Fastest project Iver ever seen being constructed. 2 months only, the area in front of my house already remove trees, survey done, soil excavated and pipes installed

Very exciting! My dream s to use ART during the 2026 CNY n go half way home n my family picking me up there n no need to drive all the way to Kuching Airport

Can confirm if you see them working at night/weekends?.

You mean H2biscuis or H2ornbill built facility in Kuching?
*
Later I check. I remember reading somewhere during the down time caused by fueling issues for hydrogen buses few years back. It got mentioned the fuel production facilities.

H2ornbill and H2biscus are separate projects to the Rembus Depot hydrogen production plant and refuelling station for KUTS.

They're not transporting hydrogen from Bintulu to Kuching.
*
Wah they are producing the product at the rembus plant itself. Abit scarry lol

Can build abit further just link the depot to the fueling section of the plant. Just drive the ART for fueling. Hydrogen can transfer via social piping or no??

Why scary?

Normal bus depo's have either diesel storage tanks, LNG storage tanks, no one says it is 'scary" having so much volatile fuels in one place.

But change it to hydrogen and suddenly everyone is a 'expert' in combustion πŸ™„
*
Cuz it's not common yet. Someone which we have to make it common then the fear of the unknown will subside.

johor and putrajaya will have it first
*
Good for them. Tell the to drive the Art to KL also cuz memang kot road edi right. Sarawak no road. We use sampan n speedboat to travel. Once the roads are done then ART can run.

The Hikmah Exchange Station (SM14) is one of the key stops within Phase 1 of the Kuching Urban Transportation System (KUTS) project. Located at β€œPadang Pasir”, it is the northern terminal station for the Blue Line, which will have a total of 15 stations, including one interchange located at Simpang Tiga.

Stations under the KUTS Project are divided into at-grade stations (stations at road level) and elevated stations. At selected stations, they are equipped with lifts and escalators, which allow ease of access for the elderly, pregnant women, and people with disabilities.

Additionally, all stations will be equipped with an Automatic Fare Collection system, Passenger Information Display System, and CCTV to ensure the safety and convenience for all passengers.

🚧 We are currently focusing on piling works for the Infrastructure Workshop at our Rembus Depot in Kota Samarahan.

Construction is also concentrated on the depot’s Mechanical Workshop, which are in the pile cap and trench slab stages.

As for the Administration and Operation Control Centre (OCC) building, it is now in the cut-off pile preparation stage. 🚧

The Rembus Depot will house essential facilities for Kuching's sustainable public transport system, which apart from the ART depot will also include our hydrogen bus depot and SEDC Energy’s hydrogen production plant.

update 25 Oct 2024

JV company (SKS Coachbuilders and Sun Credit) beat 5 others to win the Hydrogen feeder bus contract to deliver 55 units within 43 months with options.

We wait see got sounds why >100mil contract was given to a Malaya JV (again they beat 5 others lol) and does sarawak even have bus builders?

progress very fast and good. but even until now i dont understand why need jump to fancy transit type like ART when electric BRT or LRT woulf suffice - especially when this type of public transit haven't been built before in that area
*
initially was LRT but very expensive and after covid the changed to the MUCH cheaper ART. Its more flexible. They will have temporary station at Stadium Sarawak when ever there will be events, they will route ART to the Stadium. This can NEVER be done with LRT or BRT until you put the elevated road for BRT and tracks for LRT. with ART, just road!

as much as i want this ART to be a success or at least benefit the city, somehow i cannot shake the feeling that it will be a letdown or...not sure how to describe this feeling. optimistic but sprinkled with a bit of skepticism?  laugh.gif  laugh.gif

I'm most afraid that it gonna be abandoned halfway or something like after the completion of phase one and thats it. No phase 2 or delayed indefinitely. What about the maintenance and stuff? Are the people here will be utilizing it properly? vandalism? look at pan borneo, it's completed for quite some time already (apart from small section here and there), the bus stop area full of rubbish, people not using the p-turn incorrectly, driving wrong way / against the traffic here and there (the reason they have done this is very silly too based on my observation in socmed). can't imagine if this highway got toll, these people might kena brain aneurysm because of it  laugh.gif  laugh.gif

yeah i want the best for my hometown, progress is cool but i'm still a bit reserved. Hopeful but kinda skeptical

sekian my rambling  biggrin.gif

That's a population problem. Not a project problem.

But yes, sometimes I don't blame governments from not bringing development/infrastructure to Sarawak. As you have noted, the population only knows how to destroy them.

That said, just because people keep stealing copper from substations/mobile phone towers doesn't mean we don't roll out electricity to the rural areas/build mobile phone towers in the kampung
*
cable theft. I cannot tahan this idiocy lah actually. Really no jib to do in Sarawak until need to steal cable? Steal rd divider irons etc ke!
