Police/JPJ is supposed to use the registration number to check road tax status, so doesn't matter whose car you're driving they can still check it. At least this is how understand how this digital road tax thing is supposed to work.

crap! During road block, it is always with the road tax u know if it is a stolen car because the thief can easily change car plate.

During road block, how will the police know if that is a original plate or fake? do they check your chassis number?

Police don't have chassis number database. So they won't be checking for chassis numbers at road blocks.

The police will only check for chassis numbers when a vehicle is reported stolen.

yup, and if they ask for license, can use IC as well, license physical copy also not mandatory anymore

I kena roadblock recently on my way back from visiting friend in Kedah. Pulis using something to scan the car license plate, then just wave us through.

Same as any other roadblock before this. Maybe a bit slower because they just glance at the date(?) of the road tax sticker before this.

The sticker is still sampah if you use it as sticker. Nowadays even insurance companies send you the plastic thing to stick your sticker on, then you stick the plastic on your windscreen.

It is JPJ themselves, asking to open app and show. As if gomen every year give us enough money to buy flagship phones.

Anyway, even if I have flagship phone, I'm not gonna install jpj app. JPJ suppose to check themselves, but they're being dumb and making people look dumb.

If their device system offline, then they shouldn't be doing road block at that time.

I rather print, and laminate and keep in the car.. my parents/siblings also then can use the car.

you don't need to install the app I think. roadblock yang saya lalu, pulis just scan my license plate, then wave us through. same like the JPJ tengok road tax before this.

Not sure about motorcycles though, not yet kena (touch wood) road block yet. But usually pulis will just wave me through without asking lol.

but this one looks like more efficient, just scan from behind, flag the cars and stop them at the next road block if the road tax tak lepas.
