QUOTE(Hornet @ Oct 23 2007, 11:44 PM)
Actually Michael was the one capable of doing what others cannot do. Of course if you only look at end result, it seems boring, but if you're actually following his race, he use to pull off special moves, suddenly putting in fastest lap.

I miss those days where we can hear the commentator says "michael is on the move" or something like "i tell you who's flying at the moment. It's michael, catching so and so at so and so speed." and sure enough, we can either see him overtake on track, or put in fastest lap after lap, and then overtake during pit stop.

Nowadays its boring during a race. To win, just qualify for pole and fly away at the front. If you drop behind, you're doom there, no magical lap to win... We don't see drivers winning from the back of the grid or after their cars caught fire in pits anymore...

Mclaren in 2005....fastest car yet unreliable
can't win from the back of the grid but to finish the race no.2 from the back is very high...Kimi did it a couple of times

Its true M SHU had his style and his moves but because we were so obsessed with him, we nvr saw the other drivers do their good tricks too. I've seen races where Kimi starts from 9 o 10 and still gets on podium.. sometimes even winning.

M SHU was so long in F1 thats why his skills and strategy was godlike.. give Kimi and Hamilton a few more years la.. now they only.. 28 and 21.. wait till they are Shu's age la.. 37 rite he retired?... so freaking old... ages in F1 of cos he damn good la..

And pits got new action now K, that day the Williams was it?.. ran down the mechanics... the Jap driver hahaha that was some funny shit wei..

We'll see.
Kimi's so cool.
This is Ferrari we're talking about....not other 'unreliable' cars whistling.gif LOL!
I know he'll be fine.

I wonder why you're only referring to 2...out of the 11 years he was with Ferrari rolleyes.gif Those 2 years, I guess you can blame the others for not keeping up with speed tongue.gif

and...Kimi only got higher total points than Michael in 2005. He didn't win the championship and it doesn't mean he beat Michael. Ferrari had a bad car for only 1 year, and you go say everyone has beaten him. That's not right man...remember, they can win the battle...but not the war.

owh, for god sake can we drop the brits topic? getting old lar already. To be fair to them, if you go to international boards, not all brits support lewis.

Remember the big screen at the Madrid stadium last year to follow Alonso Brazil's race?

Lets talk F1 here. Maybe you guys can go open a special topic on that.

hmm.. i dont quite get what you're trying to say there hmm.gif

and when you say Ferrari had a bad car for only 1 year, do you mean during Schumi era or the whole Ferrari F1 history?

To tell you the truth, i dont like Schumi. But the guy is a workaholic. He's the first man to arrive at Ferrari HQ and went home at 11 pm. Everyday. During off season.

I despise him but at the same time respect him tongue.gif

blah1134 said Alonso and Kimi beat Michael. So I guess that was referring to the 2005 season. But even then...I really don't think Kimi actually beat Michael fair and square, coz Ferrari's car was really bad that year. We're comparing the drivers, not the cars. Such big difference between the two...I wouldn't even call it competition.

Not saying Michael is god and Kimi shouldn't beat him...I wanted to see him do it but unfortunately Kimi didn't really have the chance to beat him before his retirement. He came close in 2003 though. smile.gif

I mean 1 year...between 1999 to 2006 - coz I started to watch in 1999 tongue.gif We don't have to go back to 1985 all over again rite? sweat.gif Let's just stick to the 20th Century icon_rolleyes.gif

Yep. That's one common mistake people always make. People always thinks that when a person beat someone, it makes that person greater than those that has been beaten by that someone.

By that logic, that means that any new champion will suddenly becomes the greatest champion of all time, because he beat A who beaten B who has beaten C and so on...

The only way to compare them is to see all achievement. Alonso and Kimi will only beat michael once they get 8 WDC smile.gif

well, there never be equality in term of cars performance in F1. if you want it, then watch A1 instead tongue.gif

iinm 1985 is in the 20th Century rite? tongue.gif IMO, Ferrari dont have a bad car in 05, if not Schumi wont be finishing 3rd.

oh sorry, should be 21st century. Mistake. The car is not bad...when compared to the rest of the pack & when Michael is in the car. tongue.gif But it is bad when compared to Renault and McLaren that year. Plus, Barichello finished 8th - below Montoya, Fisichella, Ralf and Truli. Remember once Michael started 14th? sweat.gif

yeah, Ferrari in Schumi era is always if not fast but a reliable car. Lets recap 05 :

In australia, Schumi retired after colided with Hedfield.
in bahrain, schumi retired with technical problem.
In spain, he retired with tyre problem.
in turkey, he retired after colided with Webber.
In spa, sato took him out tongue.gif
