I just purchased Gteniq IQ02X55 ver2 5G router at Shopee (price after discount about RM805).
Been running for few days and I am so satisfied with it.

Now NO MORE frequent auto reboot compared to my old ZTE MC888s free router by umobile.

been getting consistent ~450Mbps DL ~50Mbps UL with 17ms ping.
5G tower is just ~1km from my home in Jitra Kedah.
Can lock bands too.
This is just using the internal antennas (2x WiFi, 4x 5G). Gteniq can use outdoor parabolic antennas as well, but with the good signal strength I'm getting (-85 dBm LTE, -90 dBm 5G), I think no need for outdoor antennas.

As i understand, this Gteniq 5G router is using Qualcomm Snapdragon X55 chipset, which is the same as my wife's ZTE MU5120 portable 5G MiFi router.
Very stable, cpu & wifi temperature under its WebUI shows below 50 deg C during operation.

But I do have UniFi fiber line as main internet.

the 5G serve as backup and to offload 50% IoT devices riding on my main ASUS AX82U router.

Today experiencing bad speed again. It was fine until it was dc and then speed stuck at 30mbps after restart. I pulled the sim from the router and put into my phone to see it goes 300mbps. Fed up, I tried the sim in the router and still stuck at 30Mbps. Then I moved the router like 1ft (from sofa to windows) and placed it vertically instead. Tested again and now consistently 300Mbps. Pulled some cardboard and begin crafting some shape to fit the cooling fan vertically. I'm gonna try this for a week and see how it goes. So far after few hours still solid 300mbps++.

Yeah, same here. Mine is the "3" model bought from Taobao. My only complaint is the size.

Yeah, I know in fact all 5G routers seem to be gigantic.

Late last year and earlier this year when 5G was still new, my area could consistently see speeds break 700Mbps during off peak hours.

It's getting slower and slower now with higher 5G adoption. I'm only getting around 300-200Mbps mostly now. My upload speed can drop below 10Mbps sometimes even below 5Mbps during peak hours observed with all the 5G telcos CelcomDigi, Umobile and YES making the wholesale network DNB the culprit.

This means it's due time for a 2nd 5G-Advanced network.

Moral of the story, buy your own router and just subscribe to the contract-less plan. At this point, I'm thinking the provided routers have some flaws.

Is there a prepaid version of U home? Whats the band number,I wan to try using it on my modified B310 modem to test.

Is uhome still a good subscribe?

The router actually receives a few mixed feedback. If you check on carousell, I saw two person selling their units for cheap price.

Also, D-Link's portable 5G modem also receives negative feedback.

I mean, what do you expect from D-Link? Nothing-Links.

Really? Kaon is worse than ZTE? How come? Because it's cheaper is it?

Alternative solution to AIO 5G modem

RM520N-GL (RM600, using Qualcomm X62 chipset)
M.2 to USB 5G adapter (RM90, convert 520N-GL into USB interface with nano SIM slot)
Whichever router that supports OpenWRT (Currently using GL I-Net MT1300, around RM250) - Explicitly need to support QCM (Quectel Modem) protocol and able to use USB modems

RM950-RM1000 for a modular 5G router that's modifiable as you see fit, especially with type of antennas you want to use, and the M.2 to USB can be also used directly on Android/Windows as 5G connection. Whole modem can be powered off USB C if using a mini router like Gl-Inet's

Speed test in less ideal condition reaches 180Mb DL and 10Mb UL, no locks or pesky manufacturer software as you can control what to put in it

That MC888S is a piece of junk. I already gave it to my heir.
I am now using Olax G5018 which recommended by member here with no disconnection neither reboot, and the best part, always connected to 5G.

My mind is so peaceful after the well spent money, otherwise children and wife keeps complaining everyday. 🤬
