Just wondering, do u guys play online game with UHome 5G? For me is a nightmare playing FC24 on PS4 lol. I know if want good latency better choose fibre but I'm curious whether people choosing wifi broadband nowadays are not gaming right?

P/S: I'm not a gamer myself and am wondering is it worth to go for more expensive fibre just for one game that I play online *sometimes*
*
Not sure with PS4 games, but i played D4 on PC using U Home 5G the ping is acceptable, not much difference than when i was using maxis 4G. hmm.gif hmm.gif

First Zytel typo Zyxel 3 unit I got, faulty scam unit, it was a return unit and seller just send it back out.

Connected to b28 but will never get 5G speed only 4G using Yes 58. But interesting thing is that it didn’t use the 100GB 4G quota despite connected as 4G.

Changed to X50-5G, get 600 mbps easy.

That being said the X50 WiFi signal is rubbish, I guess that’s how they sell you the mesh nodes. My ASUS AC86U easily cover my whole house. The X50 WiFi is joke sia.

Time to cut my cheapo maxis RM89 home broadband.

So far i am content with my Tplink NX510v wifi.. My house is 2 floor terrace house, the router is on the 2nd floor, i am able to get wifi from my porch around 4 bars.. So far no dead spot around the house.. #touchwood sweat.gif sweat.gif

Expensive costs RM1100 which is twice the price of Zyxel and only comes with 1x 2.5Gbps Ethernet port and also same QC SDX55 SOC.

The built quality and design also not trendy and modern got fins which makes cleaning difficult.

For the NX510v also very costly almost RM900 but doesn't come with 2.5GB Ethernet port only 1000M Ethernet ports.
*
Yup i know it's more costly at RM900 but when i bought it, i took consideration of the people complaints of hit or miss 5G on Zyxel, couple with the 3 years warranty u get with the tplink it feel much safer for me in the long term.
Beside that coming from being a user of a rocksolid Tplink 4G router for 7 years before it's a no brainer for me. I don't feel that much of a loss going for non 2.5GB ports atm coz to me i don't see 5G will saturate 1GB ports anytime soon.
Nowadays i can't even get speed up to 600mbps, constant 300mbps only on 5G, it's more than enuff for my usage atm. biggrin.gif

Hello, I am looking for a 5G modem and plan, would it be better to go for:

1) YES 5G (Upfront RM299, lock in 1 yr, RM99/mth and then change to RM 58)

OR

2) Buy separate modem on lazada (pls recommend cheap and good one) and go with UMobile RM68/mthly?

Living in condo, KL, middle floor.

Appreciate advice, ty.
*
Whatever it is, check both telco coverage 1st at your place. Like in my case i went with Umobile Home 5G bcoz they have better 5G/4G coverage at my place. YES 5G was all over the place, sometimes no connection at all.
If u go for YES and ur place in the end only having 4G signal most of the time, u will be going through YES 4G quota of 100GB so fast.. sweat.gif sweat.gif

But if both telco have same quality of connection, i would say YES package seems more tempting atm. Tho take note i read somewhere some users has complains having bad latency during gaming using YES. hmm.gif hmm.gif

Can NX510v turn off wifi and be passthrough mode only?

*
Checking the web configuration page for NXV510v i can disable the wifi, not sure about the passthrough mode tho, can't find anything mention about it in the config page.

Should be good, i am using it's cousin the Tplink NX510V, during 1st few months able to get around 600ish mbps.. Now with more and more 5G users around my place still able to get around 300mbps dload and 100mbps upload..

I have occasional line drop when using  Tplink NX510V. In order to restore internet line, i got to restart the modem. So i decided to lodge a report with u mobile last week. Today they came back to me saying that this model is not supported by them. They just wash hands like this  rclxub.gif
*
Lol umobile.. I sometimes face the same problem too, usually i don't restart the modem bcoz it would take a long time to reboot back. Instead i just go through the configuration page using my pc and at the 4G scan section i just rescan for 4G band usually it would suddenly reconnected back. Tho this problem happens far and in between lah, sometimes 1 1/2 months once, tho i always thought it was bcoz i left the router running 24/7 non stop.. sweat.gif sweat.gif

I think it's some China OEM rebrand. But doesn't seem like its WiFi performance is any good from review.

Not sure if YES sim-locked it.

Anyway, considering all 5G is provisioned by DNB now, any reason to choose U Mobile over this YES Flexi RM58? I understand if you're stuck with 4G then U's offering is unlimited and YES is capped at 100GB, but otherwise why pay additional RM10 a month.
*
Still depends on coverage i think, my place is i donno why YES coverage is really bad even tho i have no problem getting umobile, maxis and even digi stable. All three would get varying speed but still better than YES. hmm.gif hmm.gif

I read somewhere got people said try to avoid caina 5G modems because most of them are using caina chips that are not so compatible with Msia 5G network.
Better get those with qualcomm chips for best compatibility hmm.gif hmm.gif
