https://soyacincau.com/2023/07/13/here-are-...handy-solution/

This post is brought to you by U Mobile.

When it comes to having an ultra-fast Internet service for your home, you may immediately think of a fibre service. However, there are times and scenarios whereby implementing fibre into your home might be challenging.

A full-fledged fibre service usually has a contract that lasts for 12 to 24 months attached to it. So, this could be a major issue if you are renting a place for a short-term work assignment that is going to last just for a few months.

This scenario may also apply to college students out there. You definitely don’t want to go through the hassle of cancelling the fibre account at your rented home once you are done with your studies.

Living in an ageing building or house that has been around for decades may also pose a challenge for fibre deployment. For such an establishment, it is possible you might be looking for a non-intrusive way to have fast Internet without affecting its delicate structure or preservation effort.

Not to forget, perhaps your housing area somehow already exhausted its fibre port allocation. It could also be that you are already tired of waiting for a fibre port to be available for your home.

If you find yourself in any of these situations, fret not: we are already in the 5G era! Through the new generation wireless technology, having a blazing fast Internet speed without having messy cables going through the home wall is no longer a pipedream.

Enter the new U Home 5G plan from U Mobile

The new unlimited U Home 5G plan provides fibre-like Internet speeds without any cap. In fact, you will be getting a 5G download speed of at least 100Mbps, as guaranteed by the current national 5G infrastructure provider, Digital Nasional Berhad.

With the new U Home 5G plan, you do not have to worry about any installation or even an installer’s appointment. While you are at it, you may want to consider pairing the plan with 5G Wi-Fi home routers such as those from ZTE, so that you can properly tap into the full potential of 5G technology and enjoy fibre-like Internet speeds.

Meanwhile, this 5G wireless home broadband plan also provides ultimate flexibility since it does not come with any contract to tie you down. This means even you are free to use the U Home 5G plan in other locations if you have to move away from your current home.

In fact, for college students out there, you are free to utilise the 5G plan in your hometown during the semester break.  If you are worried that the U Home 5G plan will only function within 5G coverage areas, that is not the case at all as the plan will work as intended through 4G connectivity although the connection speed is not as fast as 5G.

Normally, the U Home 5G plan is available for RM78/month but it is currently being offered at only RM68/per month and fret not: this discounted price will last for life, as long as you remain with U Mobile. This essentially made it the most affordable unlimited home wireless broadband plan in the market at the moment.

Shall you require more information about the new U Home 5G plan, just head on to U Mobile’s official website. Alternatively, you can also visit any of the U Mobile stores throughout the country to enable your house with U Home 5G

Can, it will operate as normal 4G modem (cannot get 5G). The 5G modem module very expensive, try to search this QUECTEL RM520N-GL,almost RM800+ one piece。This is why most True 5G CPE costs more than RM1K。

4G modem module has a lot variant,eg CAT2, CAT4, CAT6, 20 and etc, cheaper a bit。The cheapest is those that not support carrier aggregation。The one that support only2 CA,already cost over RM500+.

This I cannot tell. But if you can get the IMEI number of the CPE , you can check it through this site https://www.imei.info. Or request the seller to check for you.

Yes, seller is the same. I did post a review there. brows.gif Nick name is 潘大侠 brows.gif I choose this because it has newer Qualcomm X62 modem (I do not want X55 modem which is also from Qualcomm; if not mistaken, the CPE recommended by Umobile is using X55 modem)
Btw, there are 2 designs, one is square and one is round. I bought round one where top surface contains 5G led logo.

Band information related to Malaysia Telcos --> https://www.kimovil.com/en/frequency-checker/MY
My area Umobile 5G is using N78 band.

If the mod you refer to -> change TTL and change IMEI
Answer: maybe yes

I do notice the CPE setup has these 2 facilities (I did not try as my Umobile SIM is Umobile 5G broadband):
1) Enable/Disable TTL and input TTL number. This one easy enable it and put in a number, you are done rclxm9.gif
2) A window to input modem AT commands and A window for IMEI revise. This one is challenging rclxub.gif you need to know the correct AT command to do so. devil.gif The AT command can reference to https://www.hitoha.moe/change-4g-mikrotik-imei/ because I know Mikrotik 4G/5G device using modem module from QUECTEL

Later I capture the screen and attach here.

More info for carrier aggregation: https://cacombos.com/ (read the FAQ, very good explanation)

I am using zte mc888, which is last year model
Umobile suggest 2021 model which use x55 chipset, but that one got local official warranty, cant blame them.
Malaysia 5g broadband adoption is low compare to other countries, cant blame vendor does not bring new router come in Malaysia. The performance is really good.

Hm very weird, looking at everyone's experience here, all the 5G bands that are in use locally in MY is n78, however my S21 5G from AT&T unlocked can never get a lock onto the local 5G band even when I'm in area that's covered by DNB's infra.

But in lion city with Singtel 5G, I get full 5G lock NR n78 on the whole island confused.gif

Wanted to test with yoodo but it doesn't even get 5G at all despite it using the same n78 band with Singtel 5G (Checked on my Oppo Reno 5 5G that has another Yoodo 5G enabled SIM)

Might have to eventually invest in a Nighthawk from maybe eBay so I can get faster 5G speeds on the go in MY rclxub.gif
