Speed may probably on par or better than your phone's, so I recommend doing a few speedtests with a prepaid sim first before getting the router bundle.

Also those under contract (gotten the router) or using contract-free sim plan can upgrade to UHome Borneo plan at UM centres at no charge. I signed up UHome the day before UM launches UHome Borneo plan (10 Oct) but I upgraded on 14 Oct. Still need to see how is the upcoming bill gonna look like, since I already paid rm68 upfront.

upgraded/changed to UHome Borneo like you said, but the staff there warned that this may be a time limited promo, once promo ends it will go back to 78 instead of 68. not sure how true is it though

🤔 they couldn't possibly change the price while there is still contract right? 2 years later shop for other offer if they dare to increase the price.

I am paying RM89 for 100mbps unifi now. Requested termination. If they don't offer me SWU no point being loyal, no benefit. I will jump ship to u home. Cost saving, and if not mistaken MCMC says must give minimum 100mbps on 5g network.

Even if the price reverts to 78, its still cheaper than Unifi. Also paying RM10 more for unlimited quota is still a good deal. (UHome 1TB quota vs UHome Borneo Unlimited quota)

for under contract i'm not sure if they are able to increase the pricing.. mine i took no contract option as I already have my own 5G router modem

i guess what the sales agent meant is similar to the U Mobile Prepaid Borneo plans which increased in price from RM15 to RM20 not long ago, the broadband can also increase depending on the promo from U Mobile

yea i guess if they increase it to 78 i can always apply back the RM68 plan 🤭

anyway do you know if the UHome Borneo has any restrictions that it must only be used in Borneo, or can it also be used without restriction in West M'sia inside portable mifi modems?

I'd recommend sticking to the regular UHome plan if you need to use in West M'sia, as UHome Borneo sim won't work in West M'sia as per post above.

You can still revert back the plan if you need to, within 30 days.

Anyone using G5B or H153 router in Sabah?
Would like to get some feedback to see which one is better.

East Malaysia U Mobile 5G RAN is running on ZTE, which means pick G5B which is ZTE modem, in West Msia then choose Huawei H153 router for the same reason as they use Huawei 5G RAN biggrin.gif

I picked H153 because of the stability assurance, since some people have issues with ZTE routers before in this thread.

I see. um modem is telco locked. which mean lack of many features. how is your H153 performance so far? any disconnection? I saw the router interfere. looks like plain Jane. a lot features taken out. would be good if the firmware can be flash. but that is another story. btw. your contract is 2 years. you will get tied up with UM for this period.

So far so good, no disconnections yet as of now. Its just that the router can get a bit warm sometimes, so I put a mini fan underneath the router for heat dissipation.

Not recommended in high-rise building unless line in sight with 5G tower.
