Hi everyone, would like to ask if it is normal to have the billing cycle to be less than 30 days?

I signed up for U Home 5G Sim only plan on 17 Aug 2024, with RM68 paid on the same day
However when I checked in app today, it shows that it is only valid for another 14 days, which means i only got 21 days with the first RM68 paid? Next billing date in app is on 6 Sept 2024

Should I contact customer service or will it be adjusted later on?
Thanks

Don't worry, UM will prorated you first month charge and adjust your billing cycle to begin of the month. The first month payment you make at center, just a deposit not monthly payment.

Example your first month prorated amount is RM38. You still has extra balance RM30 at next begin of the month.

The sale person should told you about this during signup.

alright thanks for the clarification! then that should be no issue
unfortunately I think the sales that attended to me was still under training, as there was another senior personnel guiding her during registration

I am experiencing slow download for iOS 18 update on U Home plan (4G only at my area), but speedtest can reach 50Mbps- is it throttling on U mobile side or Apple server congested?

The router actually receives a few mixed feedback. If you check on carousell, I saw two person selling their units for cheap price.

Also, D-Link's portable 5G modem also receives negative feedback.

I mean, what do you expect from D-Link? Nothing-Links.

wah.. was looking at the DWR-U2000 5G mifi to use together with my U Home 5G, initially planned to add to cart for 10.10..
how bad are their portable 5G modem?

Are there any recommended alternatives for 5G mifi that is around 600-800 range?

After ten months, the slow internet come back again since end of July. bangwall.gif

Had reported to UM and MCMC, the solution is waiting for fifth time router replacement. CR said will be Huawei model, hopefully the logistic won't mess up old model to me.  bruce.gif

just curious though, what is the 5G speedtest from the same location, using mobile phone? could help to pinpoint problem with modem or 5g coverage/tower too i think

Test result using PC direct connect LAN cable to router.
Switch sim to phone at same location much more better. This is part to troubleshooting and proof capture to UM CS during make report.

Just received my fifth replacement router, Huawei H153-381.
Will do the test but the router itself has location optimize function, tested as result below.

FYI, Huawei H153-381 come with one RJ45 and one RJ11 port.

haha what i meant was what was the speed test result, if you ran one at the same location, using the data plan from your mobile phone; compared to 5G speeds obtained through your 5G modem

but glad to see that your speed has improved with the huawei router

Speed may probably on par or better than your phone's, so I recommend doing a few speedtests with a prepaid sim first before getting the router bundle.

Also those under contract (gotten the router) or using contract-free sim plan can upgrade to UHome Borneo plan at UM centres at no charge. I signed up UHome the day before UM launches UHome Borneo plan (10 Oct) but I upgraded on 14 Oct. Still need to see how is the upcoming bill gonna look like, since I already paid rm68 upfront.

upgraded/changed to UHome Borneo like you said, but the staff there warned that this may be a time limited promo, once promo ends it will go back to 78 instead of 68. not sure how true is it though

🤔 they couldn't possibly change the price while there is still contract right? 2 years later shop for other offer if they dare to increase the price.

I am paying RM89 for 100mbps unifi now. Requested termination. If they don't offer me SWU no point being loyal, no benefit. I will jump ship to u home. Cost saving, and if not mistaken MCMC says must give minimum 100mbps on 5g network.

for under contract i'm not sure if they are able to increase the pricing.. mine i took no contract option as I already have my own 5G router modem

i guess what the sales agent meant is similar to the U Mobile Prepaid Borneo plans which increased in price from RM15 to RM20 not long ago, the broadband can also increase depending on the promo from U Mobile

QUOTE(ahlong0180 @ Oct 22 2025, 02:52 PM)
Even if the price reverts to 78, its still cheaper than Unifi. Also paying RM10 more for unlimited quota is still a good deal. (UHome 1TB quota vs UHome Borneo Unlimited quota)
*
yea i guess if they increase it to 78 i can always apply back the RM68 plan 🤭

anyway do you know if the UHome Borneo has any restrictions that it must only be used in Borneo, or can it also be used without restriction in West M'sia inside portable mifi modems?

I'd recommend sticking to the regular UHome plan if you need to use in West M'sia, as UHome Borneo sim won't work in West M'sia as per post above.

You can still revert back the plan if you need to, within 30 days.

oh well that's alright. seldom have travels to west m'sia nowadays hehe
