Do you plan to do balik kg trips in ev? Or go holiday during peak season when everyone is on the road with ev? Is it visible?.With limited cheering bays and lots of ev want to use and long charging time.

What is the longest time you had to queue to use charger?
*
I dont have a kampung to balik to. But would keen to experience peak season jam maybe in the future. Should be much more comfortable to be in since the ev barely use any charge in slow traffic and it has stop n go adaptive cruise with hands off lane centering assist

Never had any experience needing to queue for a charger

Tumpat to Pengerang it is then. Better challenge then the easy plus highway.

What is the average energy consumption at around 140kph where one would normally drive their ICE SUV on the highway? Best is average consumption after 30min of driving at that speed where the battery temperature, drive electronics and motor temp has normalised.
I need to compare between this and Corolla Cross/CRV which is in this price range, whether the Atto3 still can manage reasonable range when driven like an ICE at its price.

Saw the dolphin ER take up 39% battery just going up genting? That's a very very bad energy consumption IMHO..

Just check a better route planner app. For BYD, Tumpat to Pengerang needs to stop at Paka RnR, Kuantan town, Mount Austin johor and finally reach Pengerang

But checked for a Mercedes EQS450+ , can stop only once at kuantan town and proceed straight to Pengerang

That route is a charging desert actually. Theres one new fast charger coming at kuala rompin but definitely needs more to be build along the way

Can refer here

Tldw version: not very efficient at that speed. If you want to drive at that speed, its either get normal petrol car or a Tesla.. almost no other EV beats Tesla interms of efficiency. Hyundai ioniq6 long range rwd comes second

Awana kijai has a free charger at the entrance foyer. But slow charger.

So it is doable?

Doable but the charger at awana kijal is only for staying in hotel guest.

At the moment there is no fast charger other than at the Paka RnR after kota bharu until you reach Kuantan town. So its a must stop there

I see.

Since I am in Kota Bharu, will wait for the 10k charger deployment before venturing into ev

Want to ask, does BYD/Sime Darby provide a sheet of how much it will cost to maintain the car over 5 years or longer?

Also is the service package Sime Darby offers worth it? how much is it going to cost to change brake pads/discs?

Thanks for the overview

My diesel can likely do almost 1300km with total fuel of rm 120 with euro 5 b7
If use the black one then likely future but it’s not good quality fuel for modern engine

Looks like my ev plan will take a back seat

For me:

1. regenerative braking is SO good, once you get used to it, you won't like cars without it!
2. miss the ICE exhaust? Like I miss a headache. Never going back to ICE
3. I own the Seal Premium and tested the Performance for a week. I agree the Performance may be scary in average hands and attracts the boy racers and traffic light dragsters but the Premium is also very nice and is no slouch either. If I had to buy all over again, I would still buy Premium. I drive it in Sports Mode with maximum regen braking all the time. Excellent car, much better than my 2017 BMW 530i and half the price.
4. I only charge at home using the brick charger. Works well enough for me even though slow.
5. Can't be bothered about resale - life is too short.

Ok, I guess in any case, if need to Netflix or YouTube have to hotspot a phone.

I was thinking to get something that maybe have unlimited data and than, my phone hotspot off the car.

To add in to the discussion. I been provided with atto 3 er for about 6 mths by company. For the period mostly use fast dc charging with dc handal (bamboo hill/the sphere) , and shell recharge/gentari (on highway). For the 6 mths averaging about 15k km. My weekly charge is about rm160 per week or more if long trips. Mostly city driving, long trip to sites in kuantan (monthly), batu pahat (twice) and ipoh (3x).
Kuantan the car (95%) from home will arrice at hyatt (5-10%). To ipoh no problem usually arrive with 20-30% no hurry to charge can jalan2 dulu. Batu pahat have to charge at scary place (summut) usually top up shell recharge at highway.
