I'm upgrading an old system (socket A Sempron).  I plan to get an athlon64 x2 4000 plus a mobo.  The choice either the Biopstar TA690G or 560 A2(AM2).  Which is more OC'able as I also have some future proof in mind.

To answer your question..Just get the TA690g..its a superb overclock mobo....

560 A2 not a bad choice either. which gc are you planning on using? nvidia goes to 560 A2, ati goes to TA690G. i'm not sure it is related or not, but some of my friends having problem on using ati card on nforce board

p/s: it's been a long time since my last visit this thread, and now v3 already? congrats rclxms.gif nice 1st post too

http://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopi...post&p=13854108

because if it is, Phenom X4 is not that good compared to QX sweat.gif i hope AMD can rise again, with some reasonable price too thumbup.gif

I hantam 2.65Vdimm to my Micron 800 512Mx2 @1200MHz+ with 40mm fans blowing on top...
tested >48hrs, so far so good...still alive doh.gif
But for 7/24 dunno how long it can last tongue.gif

My DDR2 with Vdimm >2.4V didn't feel any diff sad.gif

My 3800+ F3 update :
previously only able to boot up XP and passed PI 32M @ max 3.5GHz,
after some burn-in now it is able to boot from XP@3.55GHz@1.625Vcore and passed PI 32M smile.gif

I am using WC for both test (no iced water doh.gif tongue.gif )

Full load Temp@62C, 42C idling Temp.

only recom if got good cooler if set Vcore >1.5V, stock cooler i believe can't boot to XP @3.5G, at 1.6Vcore, temp increase is terrible!

unless your proc is dxxn good that can boot to 3.5G <1.5Vcore hmm.gif

Yes. It really got difference. After change to this setting, I feel that the application runs more responsively.
But no difference in Folding laugh.gif laugh.gif

The news is true.
So i can conclude that the price will be lower than intel tongue.gif laugh.giflaugh.gif

But IIANM, Crysis only utilises dual core. If it utilises quad core, hard to say then as Barcelona/Phenom scale quite well in quad hmm.gif hmm.gif

Last time I pump my 4000+ VCORE +0.75 to get 3.0Ghz. with R69AM828 bios, but for R69AM913 bios even I pump in +0.87, it wont post or load to window. (using CoolerMaster GeminII) with 2 X 12CM Vizo fan.
