can always petition LYN admin to change the "audiophiles" subforum into "home-theater" subforum and move HDDVD and BD threads there.
there are M'sians who bought PS3 strictly for BD viewing and don't play games, haha  |

RM199 for the trilogy (DVD), for sale in Speedy. arj jst went 1Utama and saw some BDs for sale @ RM149 per piece. |

Hi guys,
Just wanna ask: Do a majority of you guys acquire BD movies from Amazon? I've read [here on LYN] about people buying them on Amazon in small quantities (to avoid tax), etc. Just wanted to see what method the majority of you all used to get BD movies... Am tempted to purchase one from the local stores just to finally see what a BD film quality would look like but the prices are a little too expensive at the moment... (I've owned a PS3 since July, but no movies, all games). |

Just a bit info for those people getting the Spiderman BD Trilogy. Spiderman 1 = 1 disc Spiderman 2 = 1 disc Spiderman 3 = 2 dics ( Movie + Special Features ) --> love this , sorry meant to be 2 discs... hmm..the artbox of the US version looks so much better compare to the Australia... Personally, I think the Box Art for the US/AUS version looks pirated.

hiya,
Sorry made a huge typo...keep on thinking spidey 3..and typed a 3 there..lol Spidey 1 = 1 disc Spidey 2 = 1 disc Spidey 3 = 2 disc ( Even the stand alone Spidey 3 itself is 2 disc if you do not plan to get the trilogy ). The Spiderman for the JAP one looks really nice compare to others. Mine from the Aus is practically just a box with 3 Blu-ray inside. The Jap is the one to go with..for Spidey FAN. Where is my Transformers, this is sad... Anybody know if POTC ( trilogy ) will be out ?? Cheers dante_cool |

Sony Pictures Sony Pictures Home Entertainment has announced that they will bring all three Resident Evil films to Blu-ray in a 3-pack trilogy on January 2nd. Also announced for release on that same date, is 'Resident Evil', the first film in the trilogy. Being that it will also be a part of the trilogy, we expect the third film, 'Resident Evil: Extinction' to be released on that day as well. If they import the whole thing directly, they probably wont be selling it at this price, even though its more expensive than Amazon.
I believe the casing and printing should be done locally and should be utilising the cheapest option available hence the difference in quality. |

If you guys rajin, there are some bargains to be found at ebay. My bid of $9.72 was the highest for an unopened copy of MI3 last week, shipping is $12.50 which makes the total a lot cheaper than just the movie at amazon ($28). The package just arrived today, about 10 days after I won the bid

I got some good deals at ebay this week as well. TMNT and SURF's UP for US$9.95 each plus US$15 for shipping. Still on the way. My only worry is kastam. But since its only 1 movie per parcel (from different sellers), hope it can get through without much problem.

i think now that HDDVD and BDs getting popular and also being sold in M'sia means Kastam will be more aware when checking amazon parcels. maybe they have a weekly quota to fill on amazon taxes.

Read the review, PQ and AQ is good. But if you dont like that sort of movie, then its no point getting it.
So Hostel is bad because of the genre it is in, not because of the PQ and AQ. And it has loads of extras for fans of the movie. I personally found the movie to be normal, nothing out of the extraordinary. If you like gore, then maybe you will like the movie. |

Warner Considering Blu Exclusivity
Warner Bros. At the Blu-ray Festival earlier this week, Dan Silverberg, VP of High-Definition Media for Warner Home Video, revealed that Warner may have to re-evaluate their neutral position regarding high definition releases. He commented, "Now that hardware pricing is affordable for both Blu-ray and HD DVD, it appears consumers no longer want to decide - so the notion of staying in two formats for the duration is something we are re-evaluating now that we are in the fourth quarter." My amazon package arrived earlier today, less than 3 days after it was shipped. The value is over RM1k, didn't get taxed
I also just noticed that the price for the Spidey Boxset is now $2 cheaper, while Fantastic 4, Robocop, 28 Days/Weeks Later is $4 less  Fuh, HD DVD ada g5sim, Blu-ray ada edvpc |
