I guess this is the response to exclusion of TrueHD in Transformer HD release.

It has been reported that Spider-Man Trilogy on Blu-ray, will show a movie image icon & the film title on the XMB. Just like Blu-ray game icon display on XMB, minus the wallpaper.

Blu-ray Maintains Edge Despite 'Transformers'



Blu-ray Disc maintains its edge in the format war with rival next-gen contender HD DVD, with Blu-ray titles outselling HD DVD titles by a margin of almost two to one in the first nine months of this year.

According to a study by Home Media Magazine's market research department, consumers bought 2.6 million Blu-ray Discs this year through Sept. 30, and just 1.4 million HD DVD discs.

Blu-ray Disc titles began outselling HD DVD titles early in the year and have consistently maintained an edge, week after week. Even Paramount Home Entertainment's release of the DreamWorks theatrical blockbuster Transformers exclusively on the HD DVD format didn't tip the scale last week. Though there was no hot new Blu-ray Disc release, consumers continued to buy more Blu-ray Discs than HD DVDs for the week ended Oct. 21, albeit by a slim 51% to 49% edge. Paramount says Transformers sold 190,000 units its first week in stores, but Home Media Magazine market research and studio estimates puts the actual number of units that sold through to consumers closer to 115,000.

FF7 Advent Children Blu-Ray Release Date Announced



Square-Enix has announced a release date for Final Fantasy VII Advent Children: Complete in Japan - November 30th, 2007.

After the roaring success of FF7's movie sequel, Advent Children, Square-Enix has decided to return to the movie one final time to do the storyline and imagery justice better than was managed with the initial release with a special edition release of the movie for FF fans, also using the new release as part of it's Final Fantasy 20th Anniversary Celebrations.

Final Fantasy VII Advent Children: Complete is a directors' cut of the movie, featuring scenes and action that were either cut completely or not finished in time for the initial release, as well as a bunch of other exclusive extras on the disc, all in high definition. The movie is exclusive to Sony's Blu-Ray format which can be played by the PS3, home to Final Fantasy XIII.
