come to think of it, most ps3 lens problems seem to occur on Asian units. if the ps3 lens problem is common in US/EU, you'll see all kinds of "PS3 Dead Lense" game media stories.

i think some posters speculate that Asian units may have lower QC, or maybe a bad batch of lense were introduced in the manufacturing side. who knows?

anyway, my ps2 lense must have logged in plenty usage in the last 5 years - still working

i think now that HDDVD and BDs getting popular and also being sold in M'sia means Kastam will be more aware when checking amazon parcels. maybe they have a weekly quota to fill on amazon taxes.

i think DTS-HD MA will be added when other manufacturer offers a standalone with similar feature. sony don't want to spoil the marketplace for others making standalone
