Not necessarily, there was someone who boasted that he had received his within 3 weeks. Maybe you're on their priority list .. haha .. so just wait ba .. alternatively, try checking the CPF web. If your have been assigned with a number, your PR is approved.

may I know how to check?

Go to your singpass. Click on cpf, check on insurance or something. I can't really remember because it was done by wife. It will appear a day or two upon processing.

All right.. as checked, there is nothing...Nvm just wait for the result...thank you :-)

Don't have to be overly concerned. Getting PR is quite easy for us Malaysians as we are usually in the priority list due to the close proximity to singapore. EP + 6 months often a confirmed combo.

They've always wanted details ... right down to the branch of Christianity or the sect of Buddhism you subscribe to.
*
Haha very true. Every single detail. But heard that they are speeding up the PR process. Not sure is it true or not.

https://www.mindef.gov.sg/staticfile/safvc/faqs.html
As a volunteer, how do I approach my employer to release me for training and deployment?

SAFVC Volunteers will receive a call-up notice, the SAF100V, typically three to six months prior to their call-up. They should show this call-up notice to their employers, who are required to grant them leave of absence to attend their training and deployment.
How much time will the employee be away from work if he/she serves as an SAFVC Volunteer?

In their first year of service, all SAFVC Volunteers will go through Basic Training (BT). BT will be conducted over a continuous period of ten weekdays or over a span of four weeks.

In their second year of service, SAFVC Volunteers will go through Qualification Training and, where applicable, Advanced Training.

An SAFVC Volunteer can be typically called up to serve for 14 days each year upon completion of the training syllabus for their roles.
Does the company still have to contribute to the employee’s CPF during the time he/she is called up?
When the employee is away from work performing SAFVC training, his/her employer is required to continue paying CPF contributions based on his/her civilian remuneration.
Does my employer continue to pay me when I am called up?

Similar to the existing arrangements with NSmen, SAFVC Volunteers who are employed will be eligible to claim Make-Up Pay, which is the difference between his civilian income and SV allowance for the period of In-Camp Training (ICT) call-up.
1st batch of SAFVC is from 2015

Anyone join the SAFVC before?

Must be age 18 - 45

Woman also can join!!!
*
You can join and share with us your experience .. haha

It has only been a month from Aug. Doubt there would be any reply unless you're special.

I mean the reason I am asking if anyone got it even with just a month, is because if the timing to approve PR was no different than before, than whats the point of making the process so hard now......... They asked so much details etc and I hv provided them all and within a week now since its all online forms..... the least they could do is quickly review and revert.
*
Singapore is very rigorous with checking. And, the process has always been the same. Nothing has changed actually, you have to submit numerous required documents for the process. The good thing is you submit it online now.

PR rate is low, you have to wait for a vacancy before you're even considered for the slot. Basically, 1 in 1 out now.

Abit off topic, but curious, is there a distinct difference in work culture in MNCs between MY and SG?
*
Usually no, in fact more perks in sg. My wife was transferred from My to Sg. In My, her job scope was limited to My region, when she moved to Sg her job scope became wider, she was in charge of regional work.

Guys...

If me and my kids apply for PR. For some reason we surrender our PR before serving NS. What will happen to my kids? I have got version:

1. Kids can never set foot in Singapore else will be jail
2. Kids can sill visit Singapore but cannot work in SG
*
Likely both lol .. jailed with penalty and can never work in sg.

Thing is nobody can really give me a direct answer. I have asked both pr and citizen but different people tell me different thing.

I am not trying to gain an upper hand. Before I apply for PR I need to know what's are the pro and cons before I make a decision as it will impact 2 generations.
*
Renouncing or losing one's PR status without serving or completing full-time NS will
have a serious adverse impact on applications to work or study in Singapore, or for any longterm immigration facilities in Singapore, whether now or in the future. Renouncing or losing
one’s PR status without serving or completing full-time NS will also adversely affect your
family members’ applications for long-term immigration facilities, their ability to sponsor such
facilities, their renewal of Re-Entry Permits, or their applications for Singapore Citizenship.

Only work or stay long term. And, may affect 3 generations lol.

well in SG law is law
the law didnt said 2nd gen 1 mth before drop PR must serve NS
the law only said 2nd gen PR must serve NS

for this case...he can drop PR on 2nd mth...or 3rd ....6th month  BEFORE NS.
it doesnt make any different

You're wrong. If you Google, you would end up with the phrase above. So, it will affect 3 generations. His kid, his grandkids and himself.

Bro, no point arguing…. If he thinks it’s ok, then good for him.

I mean yeah .. many try to look for a loophole to benefit from PR, which isn't surprising. But, to be frank, singapore is not malaysia. They are really strict on this. Else, most of us will be abusing the system like how malaysias being abused.

that phrase is quite vague. it never say you will be charge and jail. I guess at the end it would be at SG gov discretion. you might or might not be able to return to SG as a tourist. you might or might not be charge.
*
I guess for PR you will not be charged. Only that you may not be able to work in sg. Not too bad la .. if you're concerned about NS. You shouldn't be worried. Your son will be staying in tekong most of the time

Is this the first time you're applying for PR in Singapore?

Did you apply on your own or with a husband/wife sponsor?

My colleague told me that his wife still hasn't gotten her PR. Their child is already 4 years old, but his wife is still holding an LTVP.

My colleague is a Singapore citizen, born and raised in Singapore. He is young too, only 31 years old.The wife is malaysian.
*
Qualification may play a role here. They want quality. Not just any cat or dog. So likely his wife is not working?

Can stay in hostel ba. You can always bring him along wit you but return to singapore to serve NS.

I think a friend of mine did this, now that I recalled. He was a PR, served NS, renounced.
