Come recommend me good and cheap protein shake.
Purpose is to build muscle and help recovery after gym session.
Which should i buy? hydro whey, protein isolates, whey protein?
Previously tried optimum nutrition protein isolate gold standard..but its so expensive lol. 2 months drink finish. Its good, fast recovery but ya lor, expensive wei rm370 for 5 lbs or 2.3kg.

its like if you eat eggs to get protein, 1 egg = 5gm so if you want 24gm as per whey serving, then you try eat 5 eggs vs 1 whey drink. see which one way easier

I would recommend the yellow highlighted brands due to the price/serving and purity.

If you really dont care about the price, then can choose optimum nutrition. I cant support this brand anymore due to the 4x price increase in 1 year and they stopped offering 5kg bags too.

If you count by let serving is should be around 3-6Rm
Which is fair, you eat nasi lemak also less nutrition but same price

I go purely by taste and my pref is BSN Syntha Choc. Too much protein also not that good sebab badan only need certain amount after workout and the excess will be wasted sebab jadi poo/pee je in the end sebab not used for muscle repair.

the taste is good , because a lot of filler. I prefer higher purity whey

and total daily protein intake is most important thing. No such thing as "too much protein", as whey is a supplement to hit daily protein target.

Fish, beef or chicken breast.

Isolate is not necessary unless you are lactose intolerant or you have allergy to milk lactose.

If you have acne from whey , you can use vegan protein.

Using myprotein now.
I generally use vegan protein at night and whey in the day time.

the last i bought ON 10lbs was rm395. perhaps like 6 months back.
now couldnt find d. was a good deal. same price /scoop as myprotein at that time.

now alot place myprotein no stock d. guess the next batch price increase again. definitely not 278 anymore.

need to restock another 6 months of whey soon

How about the ON Mass Gainer (Green) ones? Currently skinny fat and most of my meals are vegetarian...currently looking for bulking.

i tried BS mass gainer... but really dont feel the extra calories compared to other brand... might wanna skip this brand

peoples eating whey protein does not means they skim on other natural sources of proteins. it's for convenients and also added supplement due to workouts or other dietary needs. or simply bcoz being rich.

But be warned vegan protein blend doesn’t taste as nice as whey. It’s more sandy and thick.

myimpact protein good value per gram of protein - but serious stick with eating real food - protein shakes doesn't really help. Btw MY protein taste horrible.

He's not lying. MP vegan / soy / oat whey is extremely terrible in texture and taste + sticks on your glass/blender so it takes longer to clean. I am am on plant-based diet, I will just stick to normal MP whey range, they are vegetarian friendly.

myprotein cheaper than ON? dafuq? i was going to try ON since i felt that myprotein is too expensive lol

sometimes it smells nice before you mix it but after you mix it then it smells like crap and very hard to drink
got any super mega duper extremely safe flavour that can mix with almond milk / water?

TAIPEI – A batch of whey protein imported from the United Kingdom was recently seized at Taiwan’s border due to banned preservatives, the Taiwan Food and Drug Administration (FDA) said yesterday.

This is the first time in two years that products from UK firm Myprotein tested positive for benzoic acid, the FDA said in its weekly release on substandard food products intercepted at the border, reported CNA.

According to the FDA, the shipments of the workout supplement “Myprotein-impact whey protein, natural chocolate” imported by Taoyuan-based TwinBrothers Co contained 0.1g of benzoic acid per kg.

A total of 1,380kg of chocolate-flavoured whey protein was returned or destroyed after testing, the FDA said.

In Taiwan, benzoic acid is used as a preservative in foods such as tomato sauce, juice and butter, but is banned from being used in whey protein products, said Chen Ching-yu, a division chief at the FDA’s Northern Centre for Regional Administration.

However, he said that none of the problematic whey protein has been sold to the domestic market.

Chen said the FDA would increase the sample testing rate for Myprotein products from 2-10% to 20-50% and has published a list of 11 other imported items that recently failed safety inspections that would either be returned to the country of origin or destroyed.

Among the products were four batches containing heavy metals, which are two shipments of scallops from different exporters from Japan, frozen taro chips from Vietnam and clove fish from Japan.

The other substandard products are coconut sugar from Indonesia, chicken essence seasoning from China, utensils from India and cassia seed tea bags from Korea, the FDA reported. – Bernama, April 26, 2023

Nvm whey depot works about RM2.09/30g of protein for that price. At this point, whichever is cheaper but more options than just ON

Just checked whey depot, it's 28g of protein for 39g scoop. That means you'll need 41.79g scoop for 30g of protein or RM2.12 per 30g of protein. Big scoop though

After stopping whey for probably 4-5 years, i've just started with Nitrotech but i seem to be getting acne. Testing out with reducing the scoop to 1/3 each time.

ON and Nitrotech is my choice but the prices have gone up so much!

theres a lot more than just whey that you gotta focus on like overall macros and linear progression.
