Just went to Singapore CPF to get this thing done. It's pretty fast. All in gaodim within 20 minutes.

Few important documents to have:
1. Your passport with your SPR.
2. If you didn't keep your old passport, your blue color IC.
3. Your malaysia IC and current passport.
4. Your bank account in Sg. If not, you can provide your Malaysia bank account also, but i think you will lose out a lot in the FX.
*
That's great. Quick question, anyone manage to close the CPF account & transfer into a WISE account?

Just did my account closure on monday 29th May . Set appointment 2 week prior then went down to CPF Maxwell service centre . Took number and waited for about 50 min before number called . Passed all relevent document : IC,current passport, passport with SPR (Old one ) , old SPR IC , and sg bank book preferably .
Altogether done in 1 hour 5 min .

I asked the personnel there , they say can do online also but need to get the copies of documents approved in singapore embassy then send it over CPF via mail (Post) . Need to make sure all documents correctly sent else will take time .

I think best way is to open CIMB SG account and link to CIMB MY account.

Ask CPF to pay to CIMB SG account. The rates at CIMB are quite decent.

you didn't answer the question.

did they contact you directly to close or given you a deadline?

or you just went to process it yourself with your own initiative?

Every foreigner will have to close account by next year. You don't have to wait for the letter telling you to do that. The letter is just to inform you about this new ruling.

I foresee zerg rushing next year. With limited appointment slots, there's high risk of not getting a slot by the closing date. Your money is still safe though, just that it doesn't earn interest.
