Just went to Singapore CPF to get this thing done. It's pretty fast. All in gaodim within 20 minutes.

Few important documents to have:
1. Your passport with your SPR.
2. If you didn't keep your old passport, your blue color IC.
3. Your malaysia IC and current passport.
4. Your bank account in Sg. If not, you can provide your Malaysia bank account also, but i think you will lose out a lot in the FX.

Hi, I have a question. With the closure of CPF, does it automatically require to surrender the blue IC? or we still can retain it?

i dont really get ur meaning...the online filling up  (for Malaysian only that states to receive money by CHEQUE) didn't say anything abt having forms, etc certified by Embassy...u mean after filling up the form online, cpf will sent another set of forms to be filled up, then certified by Embassy..(then money can be transfered by cpf to cimb.sg?..need to be sure before i press submit)...tqvm

I thought auto renounce since you did not renew PR. what is this renounce process like?

IMPO as long as REP expired and never go back to Spore to work, then PR status would auto lapse  according to REP status

Do you mind to give details the exact steps for this? from online submission, revoke PR and documents in SG embassy KL? The documents need photocopy?

When is your appointment at embassy?  All this while I thought their role is to verify your documents are signed by the actual person, and applicants will still need to mail the forms to cpf board.

Will they do this? It's not mentioned anywhere. Besides, they will need to verify your bank account, kan?

Yesterday went to the CPF Maxwell Center after booking an appointment 2weeks earlier. The service is very good. Guide you start from you enter. Transaction is smooth and fast. Less than 1/2hr, all done.

Take the number and walk down to the basement on the left side. Wait for your call.

The document you need is
1) IC. If you register under an old IC, make sure you have an old IC particular. The IC number is important. He search your acc through IC number and name.
2) Passport.
3) Bank letter if you want TT money back. Go to the bank counter, and tell them the CPF particular need. Make sure the letter have letterhead, your bank acc, name, Bank address and SWIFT code.
4) Your Email.

This is 3 important doc. Bring together like CPF statement and an old passport (that you work in SG) if have. In case they need an additional doc.

They will fill up the form for you in the PC. What you need is to confirm the filling is correct and sign. They will photostate your IC, passport, and Bank letter.

You can ask them to print out the latest statement. But it didn't reflect the final amount. Cause this yrs interest hasn't been calculated into. The final amount is only available when bank in/ email to you.

The process will require 4 month to bank in the money. So probably I'ill only can get it end of Dec. But I think there is no hurry. Cause can earn more in interest if your money stays longer inside. 

It is not necessary to go to Maxwell Center if appointment is full. Choose other centers available at your preferred date. Maxwell Center probably is the nearest from the airport I guess. About 20min.

Bank documents

If you did not obtain bank certification or do not have POSB, DBS, OCBC or UOB account maintained under your Singapore NRIC, please provide :

An original bank letter/ statement or certified true copy (with the bank officer’s stamp, name and signature) of your bank statement, showing clearly your full name and bank account number.

* Online bank statement are not acceptable.

I did that, go to the bank and ask for the statement, the officer print out the statement for me, stamped and signed, but I only realized he do not write down his name on the statement after I return home, at the end I decided not to submit the print statement and use my Sg Account instead, don't want to take the risk that they reject my application due to incomplete document, also bank Fx rate wasn't great.

now that the T Bill has gone to 4.07%, its even higher than the CPF rate. why park in CPF
