Was wondering did anyone apply for CPF withdrawal after Singapore announced Closure of CPF Accounts for Non-Singapore Citizens and Non-Permanent Residents ?

How is the process and how long does it take? Website stating the process will take up to 6 weeks.
Since the announcement was > 6 weeks ago did anyone have any success on able to get the withdrawal?

If you are still working in sg, you cant take, only January. Process is about 1 month.

You can withdrawal full amount if not working.

I'm not working in Sg for a long time back and not SPR or Sg Citizen.

Are you saying they start processing January 2024 onwards? Was confuse about that?

When did you make the withdrawal after the announcement on 9th March?
If you did the withdrawal how was the payment done? Cheque, or transfer option?

Was looking for someone that has that experience to share. TQVM

I've emailed CPF regarding this , there is 2 methods , one is via snail mail where we need to fill form and get it certified by Singapore embassy then send the information back to them . they will send a cheque to you . second method is physically going back to singapore and sending the documents for verification and then they will process the request . I'm planning to go down to sg to do it. which is better i think.

Here's the instructions from CPF

1.) By post if you are not in Singapore
- Download and print the form 'CPF Account Closure for non-Singapore Citizens and non-Permanent Residents' (Form CPF-CA) at cpf.gov.sg/FormCPFCA .

- Bring the form and original copies of the required supporting documents listed in the form, to have them witnessed and certified by an official from the Singapore Overseas Mission, with his official stamp or seal duly affixed.

- Send the completed Form CPF-CA and required supporting documents via registered mail to:

Central Provident Fund Board

Nominations & Accounts Closure Department

238B Thomson Road

#08-00 Tower B Novena Square

Singapore 307685

2.) In-person at CPF Maxwell Service Centre
- Please make an appointment via cpf.gov.sg/ClaAppt to visit the CPF Service Centre to close your CPF account and transfer your CPF savings to yourself. Please make the appointment at least one working day in advance.

- When visiting the CPF Service Centre, please bring along this email, together with your original copies of the supporting documents stated at cpf.gov.sg/AccountClosureDocs.

Please note the Board will only commence the processing of your application upon receipt of all required documents.

Thanks Kevin..

The method you posted seem to be the traditional method prior to the announcement. I did do some research on that as well but seem like the new method are online.

When you can apply withdrawal?
The above link mention that as soon as you are no longer a SC or PR, you may close your CPF account and transfer your CPF savings to your bank account at any time. (Regardless of East or West Malaysia Resident)

Online account closure and withdrawal form
Above link is the online form to apply for closure specially for Malaysian citizen.
I did apply this link about 6 weeks back and yet to hear from them that is why I'm wondering any success case since the new announcement

Seems like the process is still the same , apply using the online form but after that they will email you with the paper based form needed . I think they still have not fully enabled their online process yet . But maybe for certain cases it might be okay to do online fully . For my case , i left sg about 8-9 years already and my PR and singpass has been cancelled .

Used to be working there and was SPR till was renounced long time back.
For some people that worked in Sg long time back you do not need to be SPR to contribute too.
They used to have a rules for West Malaysia people that you cannot withdraw till age 55 and above but that was recently change.

May I know where you got this information about withdrawing only in Jan? If one is working in Spore now but not a PR (and used to contribute to CPF), doesn't this mean he is considered a non-SC and non-PR?

The CPF account closure should affect him too, no?

My friend use to be a PR, but now no more, so he went to check and was told only can withdraw in JAN since all non-PR cpf accounts will be closed in December. Can withdraw immediately if not working in spore

Just went to Singapore CPF to get this thing done. It's pretty fast. All in gaodim within 20 minutes.

Few important documents to have:
1. Your passport with your SPR.
2. If you didn't keep your old passport, your blue color IC.
3. Your malaysia IC and current passport.
4. Your bank account in Sg. If not, you can provide your Malaysia bank account also, but i think you will lose out a lot in the FX.
