If you are still working in sg, you cant take, only January.  Process is about 1 month.

You can withdrawal full amount if not working.

May I know where you got this information about withdrawing only in Jan? If one is working in Spore now but not a PR (and used to contribute to CPF), doesn't this mean he is considered a non-SC and non-PR?

The CPF account closure should affect him too, no?

My friend use to be a PR, but now no more, so he went to check and was told only can withdraw in JAN since all non-PR cpf accounts will be closed in December. Can withdraw immediately if not working in spore

You are right. I just checked again.

you didn't answer the question.

did they contact you directly to close or given you a deadline?

or you just went to process it yourself with your own initiative?
*
Every foreigner will have to close account by next year. You don't have to wait for the letter telling you to do that. The letter is just to inform you about this new ruling.

means own initiative. thanks.

I foresee zerg rushing next year. With limited appointment slots, there's high risk of not getting a slot by the closing date. Your money is still safe though, just that it doesn't earn interest.

i try to do it via singapore embassy in Malaysia. will update here.

they told my friend
first step is to renounce your citizenship.
second step then only withdraw CPF (after 6-8 weeks)
*
From what I read at CPF website, the role of the people at the embassy is to certify the documents and make sure or witness you are the one signing the forms.

I apply online, 6 weeks later, officer send email to go down to singapore (since KL singapore embassy full slot until Oct)

I went to CPF to close the account. lesson learnt, alway make appoint before go. my episone, CPF officer was kind to me to grant me a visit.

officer said, need to wait for 6 weeks (alamak). I opted for direct bank in to my singapore acc.

now my next quest if I hijack the thread a bit, how do transfer this money to malaysia bank.

Everyone know banks fees is cut throat. others like wise, remitly, etc. what is your experience ?
*
Well, I suppose it depends on how much and how fast you want to transfer.
1) Bring back SGD bit by bit, change to RM at money changer here
2) open CIMB sg and my accounts. Link them and do online transfer. The exchange rates are pretty good.
Don't use remittance service from your Sin bank (dbs or whatever) to transfer as the rates aren't good.

That's all I know. There could be more ways.

we are talking about CPF saving in 5 figures and more. taking out by cash is not possible. Johor custom clearly stated max MYR 25k or equi.

how do we know online rate of CIMB for comparisons. not sure CIMB offer rater on the fly.

WISE offer online guarantee 48hours hedge rate ON THE FLY, WITH option to bank in malaysia bank account or duitnow ID.

the other closest competition (or better) to WISE is SINGX, but not for malaysian.

When you have both MY and SGP CIMB accounts, you will be shown the rate you will get when you attempt to do a SG to MY transfer via your CIMB Sgp account.

hi,

Want to enquire..if want to withdraw cpf money to be deposited (online) to cimb sg account, can apply to withdraw by just completing the online form in cpf website https://form.gov.sg/63573e845cfdb20012171772 (seems like money be sent by cheque in sgd to home address).

Am i on right track or am missing anything esle. tqvm.

p/s cpf didn't reply to my queries (3 times submit thru 'Write To Us' alrdy).
*
You missed the part about having your forms and signature certified by Singapore Embassy staff, before mailing them to CPF. Basically, they need to be sure the person signing the forms is the real account holder.

i dont really get ur meaning...the online filling up  (for Malaysian only that states to receive money by CHEQUE) didn't say anything abt having forms, etc certified by Embassy...u mean after filling up the form online, cpf will sent another set of forms to be filled up, then certified by Embassy..(then money can be transfered by cpf to cimb.sg?..need to be sure before i press submit)...tqvm
*
I clicked the link you provided in the earlier post, and realised this is a new online form which I didn't know existed. Hence, what I said may not be applicable as the hardcopy forms were the ones to be used if one wanted to close account previously.

Apologies for any confusion.

Edit: therefore, I'm not sure about this new procedure.

Hi all,

i have been following this thread for a while and i did my submission yesterday at CPF Maxwell Service Centre, would like to share my experience here for benefits of all.

14 June - I filled up and submitted online form for account closure for Malaysian
19 June - I received email reply from CPF, telling me they need to verify my identity in order for them to process my account closure. i am given 2 options 1. filled up form and have all supporting docs verified by Singapore Overseas Mission then mail all the docs to CPF in Singapore for their processing 2. Present at CPF Maxwell Service Centre to submit all docs for their processing.
26 Jun - Manage to make online appointment on 10 Jul at CPF Maxwell Service Centre
10 Jul - Present at CPF Maxwell Service Centre to submit all required docs

CPF Officer informed me they need 14 weeks to process the account closure and another 2 weeks to process TT payment to my Malaysia bank account. In case of any issues they will contact me so now just sit and wait for 16 weeks (4 months).
*
Does that mean online submission is actually useless as you still need to choose one of the two "offline" options?

IMPO as long as REP expired and never go back to Spore to work, then PR status would auto lapse  according to REP status
*
From what I know, PR doesn't have "expiry date". It's the REP that allows a PR to enter Sgp as PR. If REP expires when you are outside of Sgp, you lose your PR because you can't enter as PR liao.

Does that mean as long as you're in Singapore, you're still a PR if REP expires? I think so, but I stand corrected.

do you still declare this in BE Form, and LHDN allows to deduct  the total amount? or just keep silence.

I'm wondering if this money is considered income, or savings.

Good question. Because compulsory CPF was not taxable w.r.t. IRAS  icon_rolleyes.gif

That's exactly what I am thinking.

what i did:

booked appointment at singapore embassy.. think waiting time is just a few days.
then submit all REP / blue IC / malaysia IC and a letter saying you would like to revoke your PR (with the day you submit, plus your mobile number, email address).
then wait for 8 weeks.
they shall send an official letter from ICA  or you can do self-pickup.
then only do CPF withdrawal.

this is the process told by SG embassy at KL.
*
When is your appointment at embassy? All this while I thought their role is to verify your documents are signed by the actual person, and applicants will still need to mail the forms to cpf board.

If you don't need the money might as well just wait till they auto close and transfer to your bank account.
*
Will they do this? It's not mentioned anywhere. Besides, they will need to verify your bank account, kan?

won't transfer automatically.. they will just keep it as dormant.. (no interest).  .. maybe future will hit SGD1 to MYR5... (so no interest pun ok)
*
Agree. Besides, I suppose many will wait till last minute to withdraw, typical Msian last-minute style. Either withdraw now and lose some interest, or find that slots are full later in the year.

I m planning to go down to SG to process everything.

Do I still need to submit it online form before going down? or just skip and direct go down to sg?
*
You need to make appointment with CPF too. You may want to check with them while making appointment if you're doing it by phone.

Appointment backlogged?

Today book for few month advance for appointment? Got so bad?

Tomorrow I going down. See got time to check it out. Or maybe check with my colleague there.
*
You might want to call in advance to see available slots, unless your visit there is for another reason. Sekali no slot.
