QUOTE(ihawk98 @ Feb 4 2008, 05:31 PM) @Merang, which jailbreak method did you use? I'm wondering whether that may have an impact on the Summerboard compatibility. Yeah that's exactly my thought also. Was jailbroken to 1.1.3 using the ipodtouchmaster guide (video guide here) - Dev. team version + iphone apps. Btw, mine is Ipod Touch 16G (1.1.2 OTB).

ok, then it was the same one i used too. i read forum postings that those who had summerboard problems seems to have used the iptm's method. using the Dev team's original jailbreak seem to work better with summerboard 1.1.3.

Ok.. i noticed that too. Most with IPTM jailbreak also seems to have the mail problem too, which is what i really want to use. Well, i'm currently halfway thru jailbreaking using the official dev team 113 jailbreak. Does this method includes the extra 1.1.3 apps (mail, map etc)? If not what is the best way to add the apps later on? IPTM has it in his repo, but i'm afraid i will still have the mail problem. Thnx.

i can't help you there. i was so frustrated with the bugs in 1.1.3 jailbreak that i restored back to 1.1.1 and jailbroke to 1.1.2 again only.
now happily using the 5 apps (ok la, my maps no hybrid mode) and other apps that work on 1.1.2. won't be trying 1.1.3 anymore until the SDK is released.

I think using the ijailbreak method would be best since my ipod so far has shown no problems so far... you might want to give it a try if similar problems arise.

QUOTE(nasik @ Feb 4 2008, 09:43 PM) the 5 apps works on f/w 1.1.2? yes. the 5 apps were originally available only on the iphone but jailbreaking 1.1.1 or 1.1.2 allowed you to install the 5 apps. i had the 5 apps back in november last year already.

exactly..the best thing so far is stick with 1.1.2.. if still want to use 1.1.3 with "fancy" wiggling icon try not to use ipodtouchmaster method (if summerboard is ur no 1 best friend) and using dev team official 1.1.3 upgrade is the best solution so far..which work fine with latest summerboard (with some minor issue).. me once using ipodouchmaster method but hv trouble wif summerboard. Now im trying dev team method back from scratch.. jailbreaking itself is part of the fun rite?

Yeah, I find that the real reason behind my adoration for the iPhone/iTouch is the whole challenge of maintaining the device in terms of these firmware upgrades, messing with he baseband over and over again, jailbreaking and finally getting it to work after tonnes of trial n' error attempts...

I've jailbroken my iPod touch to 1.1.3 and now it's running great so far. Btw, after I've done that, my space is 7.27GB instead of 7.37GB which is the actual space I should have. I checked on iTunes it stated that 100MB+ is to others. I wanna clear the remaining files. Anyone know how to use Boss Tool?
