QUOTE(Mike3300 @ Dec 4 2007, 02:03 PM) You just need to jailbreak and have Installer. If you're running 1.1.1 then just go to jailbreakme.com over WiFi and you're good to go. i have a "jailbroken" touch and running at 1.1.2 already. i tried using WinSCP but i could not see the Apps folder in the Touch. do i need to do something else to be able to transfer files to the correct folders or path (e.g. like games)

QUOTE(kel_jink @ Jan 16 2008, 11:40 AM) ^normally everytime u update, all the apps will be wiped out, except for the songs and videos/photos of course. **i couldnt find any info about 1.1.3 anywhere...mind to post the link? from the ipodtouchfans forum, it seems that if you plug in your touch to iTunes, and click check for updates, it will show that 1.1.3 official f/w is available. do note that this f/w pack DOES NOT INCLUDE the 5 apps.

QUOTE(Mike3300 @ Jan 28 2008, 06:09 PM) I just transferred few movies into my iPod, and then came the method for 1.1.3 jailbreak. How sad. That Locate Me works in Google Maps? the 1.1.3 jailbreak i used does not affect my content. all my songs, movies, tv shows, podcasts are still intact after the jailbreak. locate me sure won't work in Malaysia as the wifi spots are not mapped to any database.

QUOTE(zc_squash @ Jan 28 2008, 07:32 PM) The easiest jailbreaker so far jailbreak you iPod plus installing all the new 1.1.3 features and apps. And this method is more recommended than the previous method i posted as this is based on the so-called 'official' jailbreaker by the renowned Dev Team. Here's the instructions: 1. You'll need a jailbroken 1.1.2 iPod touch. 2. You have had the latest Installer.app installed. 3. Open SSH installed on 1.1.2 4. BSD Subsystem 1.5 or greater. 2.0 being the current version. 5. Go to your Settings > General > Auto-Lock and set to "Never" 6. Make sure your iPod is plugged on to a power source during the jailbreaking process. And finally... 7. Add this repo: http://ipodtouchmaster.com/files/repo.xml to your Installer.app And as usual, do everything at your own risk.
yup, this is the method i used this afternoon. waited 1 hr, Installer looked "stuck". then ipodtouchhacker told me to do a manual restart and Voila, jailbroken to 1.1.3 with the APPS installed.

i don't exactly know the reason as well but i've kept my iTunes at 7.5 and will not upgrade till the 1.1.3 jailbreak is not buggy.

QUOTE(lone_rider @ Jan 31 2008, 08:20 AM) I succesfully upgradeded mine to jailbroken 1.1.3. the thing is, all previously installed apps (such as psx4all, summerboard etc.) gone.. Is it normal guys? I can still see the apps listed in Uninstall section in installer btw. yes it is normal. you should have uninstalled the apps before jailbreaking. i uninstalled some but not all so now my summerboard is stuck and cannot be uninstalled (anyways it is unsupported in 1.1.3). but i could uninstall Books, TTR and games and reinstall them back from installer. it should work again.

stupid installer update killed my installer app. so i had to restore back to 1.1.1 and jailbreak again.
given the 'instability' of the jailbreak for 1.1.3 at the moment, i have decided to stay at 1.1.2 jailbreak for now.

@Merang, which jailbreak method did you use? I'm wondering whether that may have an impact on the Summerboard compatibility.

ok, then it was the same one i used too. i read forum postings that those who had summerboard problems seems to have used the iptm's method. using the Dev team's original jailbreak seem to work better with summerboard 1.1.3.

i can't help you there. i was so frustrated with the bugs in 1.1.3 jailbreak that i restored back to 1.1.1 and jailbroke to 1.1.2 again only.
now happily using the 5 apps (ok la, my maps no hybrid mode) and other apps that work on 1.1.2. won't be trying 1.1.3 anymore until the SDK is released.

QUOTE(nasik @ Feb 4 2008, 09:43 PM) the 5 apps works on f/w 1.1.2? yes. the 5 apps were originally available only on the iphone but jailbreaking 1.1.1 or 1.1.2 allowed you to install the 5 apps. i had the 5 apps back in november last year already.
