Honestly, I still chicken out to jailbreak mine. Btw, from the installer we can find, download and install right away apps from the iPhone? You know, all those Maps/Stocks/Weather/Mail/Notes/etc.
Does it necessary to install Summerboard thing? All I want was just to add some of the iPhone apps, that's it.

Btw, the only thing the iTouch has to use WiFi connection is just to the website and crash it right? The rest that requires internet connection is our PC? Added on October 20, 2007, 7:16 pmIs there any storage affect after jailbreaking/installing apps gonna take some space right? Added on October 20, 2007, 7:23 pmIt's bad for people that don't have router at home. This post has been edited by Mike3300: Oct 20 2007, 07:23 PM

Holy cow, I didn't realize that restoring to factory settings still needs a 100MB+ download. So guys, do all your stuff properly and treat the Restore as your last resort. I've learn my lesson but I'm happy that a one touch solution to jailbreak is finally here. Added on October 29, 2007, 11:53 pmBtw, can I just hit the Restore button on iTunes to restore it? You know pal, first time I tried did not work but do it again on the second. Maybe too much people are using it now. Try again few minutes later, I'm sure it'll work.

After you've connected to a WiFi router, go to Settings>WiFi>Choose your network and press the mini left button and get the IP address. Then from there, start a new session on WinSCP with the host name after your IP address. Username and password set to: root/alpine. Then login, you should see two separated columns, one is your Windows Explorer and the other is your iPod's system files. From there, drag and drop to the right place. I think after installing apps from Installer, when you press home button it'll bring you to the Slide To Unlock screen. Doesn't want to mod my iTouch's look, just wanna get iPhone apps/useful apps so can't help you with that sorry. Someone else? Good luck! I've failed twice, waste my 2 days. QUOTE(zc_squash @ Nov 7 2007, 07:52 PM) I second that Mike. No 3rd party app so far is a must-have for me... ah there is one weDict! Hehe, don't forget Ebook is pretty useful as well. We don't need the big bulky Sony Book Reader, just use your Touch cause it's pretty small and nice in your hand. Fit well in your pocket as well.

QUOTE(xandman @ Nov 7 2007, 10:28 PM) guys... after jailbreaking... the normal fnction of the touch will still remain rite? What you mean normal function, is it features? Yes. Jailbreaking is just opening up a locked door to install other 3rd party applications. You break a locked door inside your house but you can still live in there.

QUOTE(TuX @ Nov 8 2007, 11:05 PM) How safe is the jailbreak? It won't break my iPod Touch right? Do I also have to put in my list of songs again if I wanna undo the jailbreak? By restoring to default, all your files and settings will be gone. So start by step 1 again.

QUOTE(wizardboy @ Nov 10 2007, 11:57 PM) Mike, i was about to post it. luckily i saw that u have already posted it. good work mate. thx for updating the info Hehe, no problem. Glad to help. QUOTE(xandman @ Nov 11 2007, 07:16 AM) but the 1.1.2 is not yet available on itunes... is there something wrong with my itunes? I'm already running 1.1.2 after restoring my Touch yesterday. It's a 150MB update again and I noticed slight speed in performance, Calendar now can add event (which is Mr. Jobs said it was a bug and will be on the next update, it's true and thank you) and lastly some new languages.

QUOTE(jenjewak @ Nov 12 2007, 01:04 AM) After restored (1.1.2), are you running a jailbreak ipod or virgin one? Virgin snow, lol. I've downgraded from 1.1.2 to 1.1.1 to rejailbreak it. Added on November 12, 2007, 2:32 amBtw for those of you who jailbreaked your iPod touch, you guys can go to Installer and find for SysInfo. It's a great app to watch for app processes and kill them. Just like Task Manager. This post has been edited by Mike3300: Nov 12 2007, 02:32 AM

QUOTE(TuX @ Nov 12 2007, 07:23 AM) Do I really have to downgrade my 1.1.2 to Jailbreak? Where can I find the main source of Jailbreak? Kinda noob in this as I've not Jailbroken my iPod touch yet... :S A great resource forum: http://www.ipodtouchfans.com/ Lots of stuff I learn from there.
