Honestly, I still chicken out to jailbreak mine. Btw, from the installer we can find, download and install right away apps from the iPhone? You know, all those Maps/Stocks/Weather/Mail/Notes/etc.

Does it necessary to install Summerboard thing? All I want was just to add some of the iPhone apps, that's it.

Btw, the only thing the iTouch has to use WiFi connection is just to the website and crash it right? The rest that requires internet connection is our PC?

lokgotz, you managed to get iPhone apps?

Direct from ur Touch, need to install BSD Subsystem in order to install the apps. Don't install Widgets, I've to restore my Touch. Currently looking for iPod touch song ripper before restoring.

Holy cow, I didn't realize that restoring to factory settings still needs a 100MB+ download. So guys, do all your stuff properly and treat the Restore as your last resort. I've learn my lesson but I'm happy that a one touch solution to jailbreak is finally here.

You know pal, first time I tried did not work but do it again on the second. Maybe too much people are using it now. Try again few minutes later, I'm sure it'll work.

I did. Nothing much actually, I'm doing second restore cause all of my iPhone apps freeze.

After you've connected to a WiFi router, go to Settings>WiFi>Choose your network and press the mini left button and get the IP address. Then from there, start a new session on WinSCP with the host name after your IP address. Username and password set to: root/alpine. Then login, you should see two separated columns, one is your Windows Explorer and the other is your iPod's system files. From there, drag and drop to the right place.

I think after installing apps from Installer, when you press home button it'll bring you to the Slide To Unlock screen.

Doesn't want to mod my iTouch's look, just wanna get iPhone apps/useful apps so can't help you with that sorry. Someone else? Good luck! I've failed twice, waste my 2 days.

try that http://jailbreakme.com only Installer installed. i tried the http://www.slovix.com/touchfree/jb but it suck cause it auto installed some stuff like SSH client which I don't use it.

iPhone apps are pretty useful for me and the only strong reason on why I jailbreak mine.

Hehe, don't forget Ebook is pretty useful as well. We don't need the big bulky Sony Book Reader, just use your Touch cause it's pretty small and nice in your hand. Fit well in your pocket as well.

What you mean normal function, is it features? Yes. Jailbreaking is just opening up a locked door to install other 3rd party applications. You break a locked door inside your house but you can still live in there.

my iTouch sometimes not responding to my touch. apps sometimes hang, you guys experienced the same thing?

By restoring to default, all your files and settings will be gone. So start by step 1 again.

There's nothing to be afraid, go on and download iTunes 7.5 and update to 1.1.2 cause:

I'm already running 1.1.2 after restoring my Touch yesterday. It's a 150MB update again and I noticed slight speed in performance, Calendar now can add event (which is Mr. Jobs said it was a bug and will be on the next update, it's true and thank you) and lastly some new languages.

Virgin snow, lol. I've downgraded from 1.1.2 to 1.1.1 to rejailbreak it.

Added on November 12, 2007, 2:32 amBtw for those of you who jailbreaked your iPod touch, you guys can go to Installer and find for SysInfo. It's a great app to watch for app processes and kill them. Just like Task Manager.
