Last week I online transferred funds to Rize from another bank. Everything proceeded smoothly in the originating bank's app, but after approving it via secure authorisation, the message "transaction failed" appeared. "Please contact the Bank".

I tried again, and again it failed.

I checked Playstore, and saw that there was an updated version of the app. After updating, my transfer went through.

The weird thing is that when I then logged into Rize, I found that there were 3 credits, i.e. the 2 failed attempts and the successful transfer were all credited into Rize account. And my account available balance was increased by 3x the transaction amount! Only late at night were the 2 failed transactions deleted and my balance adjusted down.

A system like this is very dangerous

Not only Rize, most Banks are able to backdate transactions. Some can only do it provided the statement date has not passed

Your case is crazier than mine! Rize giving you 30k prize hahaha. You could try to transfer it out just to test the system. Really worried if it can go through. Fraudsters will immediately open accounts there

I have done duitnow out of Rize. No problems. Funds have always been available immediately in my account with the recipient bank.

Good reason to transfer in multiple amounts of RM5k, as was discussed not long ago.

That is what happened to me the 1st and 2nd times.

By the 3rd time, they must have done some maintenance to recognise it's a repeat payee, it's saved as a favorite, and is to my own name (tho based on all the shortcomings mentioned in this thread, I'm not sure their system can do that ), so they didn't block or call me any more.

If you are ok with that, try it again, see if it works.

Anyway, the risk is the same if you pay 50 sen, they also won't block, and won't call.

DBS Bank in Singapore has operational issues? Singapore authority MAS is quite strict, still haven't got DSB to resolve them?

In the initial stage of the bank, there were no prizes at all.

Seems they getting more aggressive in garnering new accounts/deposits. If so, they might just continue with the 4%/5% interest rate after 31 December, or maybe even increase them . Otherwise, they will lose the existing customers/deposit base. I reckon they must know that.

Think we better wait another hour before trying again. Hopefully they can stabilise the system soon. Otherwise, our bombardment can only stress the system further.

Now we know that a system reliant on apps only, without a backup, can be very risky.

If there was at least a web back-up, even if only for checking account information, it would give depositors greater assurance of their money.
