After I read so many messages in this thread, I still proceed to deposit RM500k into two newly created accounts.  biggrin.gif  brows.gif  rolleyes.gif

But it will take 5 days to withdraw all your funds.

I use all these platform to keep emergency cash only. When I need it I will draw it yet earn good interest compared to bank casa My long term deposit are still with banks FD there won't be too much money in these platform
*
Sometimes it more than emergency cash, whilst waiting for other investment opportunities. Which don't wish to lock up in 3 month FD. As for 1 month FD, the rates are too low, and still not as flexible as on-demand deposits. think many people thought Rize was the ideal platform for this purpose. innocent.gif But now sweat.gif

For me versa is slowlah, for money to come in it is t+2working days, here you already lose interest. Disbursement you also must count money in not just out

I see many angry people calling for full withdrawal, this episode really bad publicity for rize
*
I never used Versa before. But I had used KDI Save before moving spare funds to Rize. KDI Save was quite efficient for same day value, but need to meet the morning cut-off time for submission of withdrawal request. What are the current withdrawal and deposit cut-off times?

Based on the slowness of Versa, in your opinion, just go with KDI Save if moving funds out of Rize?

Obviously no. What can you do except wait right. Keeping quiet and not answering calls is even worse.

Like I mentioned, I had this experience b4 from another bank. It was a big transfer of rm20k. I understand the frustration but at least that bank did a good job in assuring my funds will be refunded and safe . Here you have them avoiding your calls and not issuing any statement, even worse

I agree move  all your funds if you don't feel secure. I have also moved another 50% of my funds away b4 they issued the statement as I wasn't happy with how they handle this whole issue
*
I think that first and foremost, they should also have assured all depositors that their deposits are 100% secure, and no losses will arise.

This they didn't do.

Damn 1.6/5 stars is a low number. Maybe they can pay customers to give good rating back?
*
Good idea! They can credit each account with RM20 as a retainer fee, due to the inconvenience caused laugh.gif

The apps messed up has caused Rize alot of money methinks.

interest incorrect, money not credited here, over credited there...
short people would not let Rize makan.
more Rize bite the bullet  lah.
*
Actualy I dont know how they make money as a digital bank, because they need to cover high interest paid to depositors, staff costs, etc. So far, I have not received any marketing information or telemarketing calls from them. Not that I want them to call me, but just wondering hmm.gif

they use our money as investment. gain more higher then pass u as interest

I see. So it's not actually a bank in the sense we normally understand banking business.

Investment returns are uncertain and volatile, unlike bank lending. Good thing there is PIDM insurance, otherwise they would find it harder to garner deposits.

banks can make money , but this chaos has caused them  to lose additional money in  errors in crediting
*
Maybe they also have access to cheap syariah funding from Islamic-minded companies, GLCs and individuals. Who do not move funds out so often. Won't hurt them if we withdraw, as we are all high cost customers laugh.gif

BNM won’t pull their license in the 1st place 🤦‍♀️ because they never awarded to Rize as it is piggybacking on current existing retail banking license from Al Rajhi 🤦‍♀️
Digital banks would save on physical presence costs like operating branches and manpower as they will divert the costs to infrastructure instead as the cost savings from there itself
*
They have staff costs like the Call Centre, which is always busy attending to complaints laugh.gif

They also need to have staff to attend to lending activities and processing, marketing activities, IT, etc. They will also have physical offices somewhere, albeit saving quite a lot on not having an extensive physical branch offices, as you point out.

As for the infrastructure costs, maybe they didn't spend enough, given the wonky and insecure systems and apps!

Anyway, let's not debate the merits of digital banks vs physical banks.

Rize has failed many depositors' basic expectations and lost trust. We shall have to wait another 4 weeks to see if they have really resolved the problems encountered. This is probably the final test we can endure. All the best to us icon_rolleyes.gif

Asked about the promotion rate, he told me will go back to normal rate which is 0.75 for first 10000 but the others I forgot 😝
*
Will there be a repeat system crash if massive withdrawals on 1st January hmm.gif

good to know early, we can plan the exit biggrin.gif

old base rate as below:

TierProfit Rate (p.a.%)
RM 0 – 10,0000.75%
RM 10,000 – 25,0001.00%
> RM 25,0001.10%
*
These rates are poorer than some regular bank savings account. If really true, expect them to lose almost all their retail deposits

but still,
quite likely they will continue some sort of promo rate with >3% p.a.

unless they want to let this apps to become a thing of the past.

at  0.75% p.a rate, only person that out of his mind will stay here.
