I also bought at RM2399 a month ago. Should have wait til this month. sad.gif

k33vin, yes you can uninstall mapking and install Garmin. No harm doing that. But in my case, although mapking is not useful to me, I still install it as a backup, just incase my Garmin fail to load or something wrong with it, I still have a backup.

Noonian, can't be helped. Technological products will always drop price like crazy. The RM1999 is actually promo price for the duration of their fair in Mid Valley only. Today is last day, I think. The sales guy told me the actual price still between RM2399 and 2799.

lilkev, your name reminds me of the former hitzfm DJ. Hv you experienced the Garmin not loading up before so far? To keep MapKing in your device would be taking up extra space, no?

BTW, even if you buy this month, nothing's gonna stop the retailers from offering the P750 at RM1799 next month right? He he he. That's the peril of buying new tech products. cry.gif

PDA expert at low yat ground floor.

this is new batch from asus and they already upgrade the rom to the latest one.

this new standard package only include:

handset
one batt.
car charger
ear phone
usb cable
charger
2 stylus

not include
sd card
car holder

I found that hp ipaq 610 series at low yat sell at 19++ with 2 gb compare with p750
2.8" screen vs 2.6
128 ram vs 64
no video call camera vs got !

but p750 GPS chipset(sirfstar III) is much better than hp(Asisted GPS)  .
if GPS is not importance to u i suggest get hp

or

u can get it at pikom computer fair, may get best offer tongue.gif

corinthian, sometimes Garmin will fail to load but it is due to the OS problem. Usually restart the device then ok already. *Touch wood* so far, no need to activate the backup (Mapking) yet. But I always feel safer to have a backup system. smile.gif

Imagine that if you are using a 1 or 2GB card, how much space can it used up, right? So just leave it there lor...

that is not OS problem, garmin itseft.

GarminMobileXT_42050w---- it stable only when u are using it. it cause the PDA lag after closed the program, needs always reset or wait one or two more minutes for system resume to normal.

GarminMobileXT_42040w----pretty smooth in run and close the progarm for few times, never hanged and lag but only hv one problem auto shut down with error when resume from sleep mode(that is not importance when u do navigating it never goto sleep mode smile.gif .)

I'M now installed garmin and mapking.

I found that mapking lead u to the shortest way if compared with garmin
and navigation panel is nicer than garmin because i like it shown how far the distance is instead of showing time in garmin and also turn by turn.

this is my 2 cent tongue.gif

p750 bought 2 weeks

goto "setting"----select "GSM/3G networks------select 'automatic"----ok

then

goto "setting"----select "network setting"-------in "operator" colume select maxis(3g)-----done

then (for online purpose)

goto "setting"------"connection"-----connection------tab "advance"-----"select networks"-----select "maxis internet settings"---ok

the "maxis internet settings" only available after select "maxis(3g)" in operator colume

sometime it connected to gprs or "H" HSDPA when u online, depend on the coverage

Haha...definately that guy doesn't know how to configure. No doubt you can't find a wording called "3G" in the settings but P750 is supporting more than just 3G (UMTS), it is supporting 3.5G (HSDPA).

I called Maxis customer support and here's the PDF they sent to me (attached here) and I have tried it out, the steps are slightly wrong but still can use. Don't have to follow exactly, as long as you follow the first few parts, all the settings should be in already.

Hi, I see the setting of the PDF file u attached in. Just wonder it means that we using the modem setting "Celluler Line (GPRS)" actually consider connect to 3G?

I assume it connected to 3G because when I use it to online (not wifi), I can see the 3G icon there and sometimes changed to "H" (HSDPA).

no need enter what unet,ip......etc, just simply follow these three simple settings. then
p750 will automatic configure for u..that's all.

goto "setting"----select "GSM/3G networks------select 'automatic"----ok

then

goto "setting"----select "network setting"-------in "operator" colume select maxis(3g)-----done

then (for online purpose)

goto "setting"------"connection"-----connection------tab "advance"-----"select networks"-----select "maxis internet settings"---ok

the "maxis internet settings" only available after select "maxis(3g)" in operator colume

sometime it connected to gprs or "H" HSDPA when u online, depend on the coverage

the p750 signal bar area will display "3G" word if u in 3G coverage area or "G" (gsm)without 3G signal.

Hi!
I got this strange problem. I noticed a couple of times when I took my phone out frm my bag, the Location Courier app is running, although I didn't turn it on myself. My phone was locked.
Then later i found out that I can start up Location Courier by holding onto the Mode Switcher Button. How do I un-configure this? I can't seem to find it anywhere...

Try to go to start -> settings -> buttons. I believe you have configured to hold the button will load the location courier.

I found out after exit from GArmin XT program, the device will slow down due to QUE.EXE is still running at the background. You can see it running using Memaid under RUNNING PROCESS. Now I usually quit GARMIN XT using memaid to terminate the program rather than using the "exit" button. Now no more need to reset.
Hope this help.
