Global reviews of Poco F5 are out, even performance higher than Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 found on Xiaomi 12, and Poco F5 is RM1399 in Malaysia.

My hand is very itchy, but thank God, I'm typing on a matte white Poco F3, the hand feel and colour of my Poco F3 too attractive to let go of my current phone. 😛 Plus Snapdragon 870 still damn smooth to this day

For anyone who is currently on the hunt for the best value smartphone under RM1400 in Malaysia(except camera), choose Poco F5, hands down no competition. Literally RM1400 for performance better than OnePlus 10 Pro, Xiaomi 12 and Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra

Very good all around indeed, but as expected camera not good, wished they could've stuffed at least IMX766 in it instead. Still other phones might drop price if they can't compete camera wise.

Yeah the Poco F5 Pro pricing is too steep at RM1999 to RM2099 for a mediocre camera. If want IMX766, Realme Gt Neo 3, OnePlus Nord 2T and Nothing Phone (1) in very near range to Poco F5 Pro 👀

Prefer more close to Pixel 6a's quality for camera, don't need latest fast SoC because no gaming. Hopefully this drives some models price down but doubtful because sellers here maintain lama haha

Unfortunately Pixel 6A quality unmatched because Tensor ISP+Pixel Software makes the Pixel Camera good, because 6A still using same old IMX363 hardware on Pixel 3. Making 6A cheaper to make.

Other manufacturers either have good ISP for their SoC(Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2/Snapdragon 8 series), but poor hardware sensor + poor software.
Or it's great sensor (200MP OIS, 108MP HM6 flagship sensor), but poor ISP (Dimensity 1080, Snapdragon 695) and poor camera software.

Pixel 6A is unfortunately not available in Malaysia, and for under RM2500, it's hard to get "good camera sensor+great processor ISP+great camera software", all 3 in a smartphone that is available in Malaysia.

The nearest budget mid-range smartphone that is available in Malaysia that has those 3 criteria is surprisingly the Nothing Phone (1), which 778G has good ISP and is actually more power efficient than Tensor G1. Alhough Nothing camera software is better than other competitors, Google Pixel camera software is still king to many, whether budget or flagship.

Well then, the new F5 has the same amazing recipe the F3 had at launch, will sell well. But I'll stick with my F3 for now, still one more year of security update.
