QUOTE(bonai @ May 2 2008, 07:15 PM) You must have missed my picture spam at the bottom of page 78 QUOTE Cim... I din use sand d.. but till now I'm still thinkin bout it... should i use breeder celect esp. for litter? or can use it for bedding also? I use litter box to make my job easier as he knows how to poo n pee on the litter box.. of no litter box he just simply pee poo on the bedding which made it smelly n have to change everytime.. if got litter i can just throw the things...how how how? You can continue to use your wood shavings as bedding, just fill the litter tray with breeders celect. Bedding can be wood shavings or safe cloth. The litter tray can be filled with paper towel or safe litters like breeders celect. Does not matter what combination you choose, the most important thing is to provide an area for him to do his business. |

How much do you give in a day?
Adults eat roughly around 2 tablespoons per day, babies around 2-4 months old will eat more. Hedgies should be free fed, meaning there should always be some food in the bowl so they can eat whenever they want. Its not necessary to controll or limit the food they eat unless they are overweight Another thing is some hedgies prefer the taste of freshly added kibble |

Hedgies like to eat and poo at the same time, i guess they like the feeling of food going in one end and coming out at the other end
so usually poo in the bowls is caused by 2 problems. 1) The bowls are too big, big enough that they can stand inside and eat, resulting in poo in the bowl 2) The food and water bowl might be too close together, causing the hedgehog to stand in one while eating/drinking out of the other. Getting smaller bowls or putting the food/water bowl further from one another will solve the problem EDIT: Oh another thing, dont put the bowls in a corner, putting them along the side of the wall is better. Some hedgehogs like to poo/pee in the corners of the cage This post has been edited by Cimredopyh: May 3 2008, 04:50 PM |

well, my hedgehog usually poops all over the place except his own hidebox, i don't plan to litter train it anymore...
i was cleaning his cage today so i put him onto the wheel, and he immediately pooped there. when i placed him back into his cage, he went to the center and pee all over the place, then arrogantly walked back to his hidebox to sleep. he has one kind of an attitude... |
