haha... indeed they gave too much problem...
but as long as they can understand n willing to listen what we told them it would be great!!! xD

like my dog... he's too 'manja' to me... so everytime I asked him to sit he will roll on the floor.. when I asked him to shake hand he will just sit only -.-""
really made me wan to scold also cannot... lol

btw~~~ seems this thread alive again!!! come on guys~~~
lets poison more ppl to come here~~ 8D
as for me... wait till my mom go back this sunday.. then i can post lots of ken's pic.. she's kinda scare with him... so can't really let him roam freely in my room these day... xD

Hedgehogs most sensitive and developed sense is their sense of smell.
even simple things like certain detergents or the smell of lotion on your hands can cause a surprising degree of respiratory irritation in hedgies
Im afraid cigarette smoke would be a big no.
Prolonged and continued exposure to smoke of any kind will likely result in a URI. An untreated URI can kill a hedgehog in days.

Another thing is free roaming hedgies, its not reccomended.

Due to their small size and love of squeezing into small corners. you might move a chair/table/box only to result in accidentally killing your hedgie
Even a simple thing like opening a door when the hedgie is behind the door....you can imagine
All wiring must be hidden, all holes closed up.
Also yes, some hedgies can be litter trained, but not all.
A larger area means you will need multiple litter trays. and even then the hedgie might not use them instead choosing to pee and poo wherever he pleases. Not to mention you will be stepping on quills like there is no tomorrow.
Can you ensure that the floor will always be clean of things that the hedgie might eat and choke/get poisoned with?
Hedgehogs dislike bright lights and loud noises. Can your room be dark and quiet?
The hedgehog will have difficulty identifying its own 'zone' because other people are always invading it. Where will it go when it wants some quiet private time? How will you minimize the stress this will cause.

Theres just too many things that can go wrong...

Also ferrets and hedgies do not go well together. How will you be able to keep your free roam hedgie safe without a cage? Accidents can happen and you wont be home 24/7 to make sure they dont.

Please dont attempt to let them make 'friends'.
In the wild the number 1 predator of hedgehogs is the fox, totally genetically unrelated to the ferret but with a very similar personality.
Ferrets in olden times were trained to hunt rats, totally genetically unrelated to hedgies but once again similar enough.

Atolycus, perhaps a hedgie is not suitable for your situation?
Since you have not bought one yet i suggest you do alot more reasearch about them, rather than buy and make mistakes.
From the situation you wanted to put your hedgie in it seems like maybe you misunderstand what they are like.
They are a solitary, small prey animal that requires alot of peace, quiet, patience.

Cim... I din use sand d.. but till now I'm still thinkin bout it...
should i use breeder celect esp. for litter? or can use it for bedding also?
I use litter box to make my job easier as he knows how to poo n pee on the litter box..
of no litter box he just simply pee poo on the bedding which made it smelly n have to change everytime..
if got litter i can just throw the things...how how how?
