OK.The wiring man said need 9 core wire to pull from the DB(Autogate+Pillar light+Bell)
Any other additional wires needed?
*
9 core will exact wire need if include light and door bell. No stand by wire incase any problem with one of the wire. To play safe better ask the wireman to pull 12 core at less got std by a few free incase 1 or 2 of the wire got problem. If u done the porch nicely with tiles u can't just hack the floor again to redo the wiring. Unless u planning to use full solar autogate system then no need to do any autogate wiring.

DIY is very easy only but must hv tools like grinder, hammer drill and battery screw driver. Dismantle whatever that is unwanted and then start to think how to install the new. Std find video on youtube how to install autogate or go to friend hse see how their system is installed. If unlucky short the board or damage some of the bracket. Nvm can buy spare part on Lazada or Shoppe. Cheap cheap

Get professional to install just prepare money one thing only and less headache.

Good luck

have to troubleshoot 1st, which 1 is giving problem.
might be arm, might be cables, might be circuit board..

easiest, test the arm using battery direct. if not moving anymore, sure arm motor or mechanical inside problems.

Normally depend on what brand of the autogate system. If ABC brand then sometime not easy to find one side and even can sometime won't running as smooth as possible. Another thing is how old already the system, if too old can just consider replacing the whole set so no need to worry when morning want to go out another motor or other part give problem.

Can try DIY to test what is the actual problem by step by step testing. First disconnect motor wire connection at motor joint to direct connect back battery to motor wire. If motor can run then joint back wire and go to main board area to disconnect wire from board connection and again connect to backup battery to test and if running then wire is ok so finale conclusion could be the board problem.

Anyway happy testing.

Thanks for the advise..
have tried it out by connecting the arm wires to 12v battery... should be 12v?
no movement at all, probably minor jerk when its connected..
safe to say the arm is gone out?

if let's say the arm is out, can we buy any arm sold in shopee or lazada to change? diy?
is it suitable? or anything to look out for?

10 years already, good enough done it's job already. Can try buy one side but better to get same brand because the length, arm holder bracket is different if other brand. If same brand just dismantle and put on the new arm but speed will be different abit. Mostly our customer will get a whole new set at less got 1 year warranty and no need to worry system not working when in a rush to go out to work in the morning.

Buy one side min RM200-300/- one side depend on brand. Whole set cheapest can get include dismantle and install RM1,180-1,280/- and some with more feature about RM1,580-1,880/=.

Anyway all the best

For us we are installer so all autogate system if install properly could last u very long. But sometime there might be a set or two that might hv problem.

Anyway for us we deal with Dnor, DC Moto for electric 12 v type and Fagolli for full solar autogate system. we also sell and install Fagolli full aluminium trackless gate system. Price for autogate as mention b4 up to u whether normal arm screw type will be from RM1,180-1,480/= or rotate 12v motor type with more feature which can add on autolock and PIR sensor. Dismantle charge for upgrade or replace old faulty set min RM100/- to remove what ever needed to install new set.

I am new to autogate systems, what are the pros and cons of the arm screw type vs rotate motor type? Is it just the additional feature difference?

Arm Screw type more on the simple side open one side or both side n close and not easily adjustable when misalign unless u r an experience installer or just rely on the center rubber stopper.

Rotate motor type hv more feature as u know and easy adjustable stopper to control where the gate stop, slimmer arm, nicer design, additional add on available and longer lasting.

Based on above, I assume rotate motor are generally more expensive than arm screw type then? Will there any differences in terms of speed of opening/closing gate due to slimmer arm on rotate type?

Yes there is a price different. For speed itself those rotate board will self adjust the speed follow the gate weight so it won't open or close too fast and bang at the end. Good for those who can't adjust proper speed for the gate to open close. Screw type board is adjustable on the board for pressure and speed. once set wrongly it will follow what set by the person requirement by going too fast or slow. Anyway the auto setting board is better so u won't hv headache with all the turn less or plus. The size of the arm doesn't matter on how fast the gate open close.
