Hi guys, I am considering getting the Alza X (lowest spec), but I need the Rear Camera, which is only available on the other two higher models.
So definitely I will install the rear camera at an accessory shop. I understand this will void the warranty of the car wiring and not sure what else (esp. if drilling through?) It's quite subjective I know, but would like your opinion: is it worth it to pay around RM80 more per month (for the H model) for 9 years versus sacrificing the peace of mind from the voided warranty? How bad could things go if I void the warranty? |

If you're taking 9 year loan to buy the car.... perhaps you should reconsider that decision first. One of the main benefits of buying new vs used is the warranty, if you're just going to void it direct then better buy used right? So definitely I will install the rear camera at an accessory shop. RM80 a month can be little.. but for 9 years means 108mths x 80 = 8,640. You might want to see if all other extra worth for you or not.So definitely I will install the rear camera at an accessory shop. How bad could things go if I void the warranty? If can just get 5 year loan. worst case 6-7 years.. but check the loan offer for all these options. Install with plug and play, no cut wires should not void warranty, should only void the player warranty. Plug n play should be okay.. worst case, swap back to original player if need to claim anything else. hahaha. Hope no claim needed as we want the car to be no major issue. I am only worried more on the dcvt.. but again, the dcvt already years in market from ativa, myvi... dogbert_chew liked this post

QUOTE(SpringBreak2012 @ Mar 12 2023, 05:17 PM) Agree with LostFound & Kiefer it is not wise to take 9 year loans for car purchases. (to put it politely) Some sohai might say for better cash flow, can invest the extra cash for better returns blah blah but 99% of buyers plainly do not have the money for higher monthly repayments. Max is 5 year loan to coincide with end of warranty. As for rear camera, my whole family driving without one, me for 4 decades. Why not practise more and do without it. Society getting less capable? QUOTE(MGM @ Mar 6 2023, 08:58 AM) Will be getting my Alza AV next week. Accessories is always optional.Loan 30k cos no income document, 3 years 3.75% is this high? With a handling fee of rm600, what is this? What should be the final price OTR without insurance & sst? Price given to me is 76700 with full insurance after sst deducted, is this correct? I found that Coil Mat & Luggage tray is added for RM280, is this optional? Clarify with your SA, is this given as free gift or charged. I noticed this practice of them putting in items that you didn't request into the order. I bersangka baik that they did that because its the common accessories that most customers opt for. Do take NOTE of this also when you send your future car for service. The person attending to you will add accessories into your service without asking you. They added the battery terminal protector and oil filter magnet trap without asking me. Those 2 items adds up RM60+ to the bill 😭 |

I was told of this also. Veloz however uses Alza's engine which stated as same code as PM(Perodua manufacturing). On the other hand , does one think that Perodua will give customers an inferior gearbox in view that they sell by the hundreds of thousands of units a year? |

On the other hand , does one think that Perodua will give customers an inferior gearbox in view that they sell by the hundreds of thousands of units a year? Hi All, from the info on the net as well as motoring videos, all mentioned same engine as well as same DCVT.I don't think Veloz uses Direct Shift CVT as the approach/how cvt works is opposite of D-CVT (dual mode cvr). this D-cvt has been used in Ativa, new myvi and now Alza/Veloz and soon to be Vios. D-CVT is not really that new. Anyone heard any issue with this D-cvt??? On engine, Alza uses 2NR-VE (78KW at 6,000 rpm, 138 Nm at 4,200 rpm, slightly tuned up) *same as Veloz. which is also same engine as Myvi (76KW @ 6000rpm, 137 NM @ 4,200). This engine is on Aluminium block. From production point of view as well as cost saving, best to leverage what avail for lots of model. |

Dual mode CVT has a planatery gear at higher revs for better fuel consumption. For most of thr time it functions as a CVT suitable for lower powered small engines under the Daihatsu stable limited to 150Nm torque and below. Toyota's CVT has a planatery gear at the beginning to take the load of more powerful engines in its lineup of models then only switch to CVT mode. Veloz uses the same engine as Alza which max out at 140Nm. There is no need to use the more advance CVT, can just install Daihatsu's DCVT to do the job Don't believe UMW woulf have missed the chance to differentiate Veloz better gearbox if really was the case. Hence likely untrue. Kiefer liked this post
