Hi guys, I am considering getting the Alza X (lowest spec), but I need the Rear Camera, which is only available on the other two higher models.
So definitely I will install the rear camera at an accessory shop. I understand this will void the warranty of the car wiring and not sure what else (esp. if drilling through?)
It's quite subjective I know, but would like your opinion: is it worth it to pay around RM80 more per month (for the H model) for 9 years versus sacrificing the peace of mind from the voided warranty? How bad could things go if I void the warranty?

QUOTE(LostAndFound @ Mar 13 2023, 08:53 AM) If you're taking 9 year loan to buy the car.... perhaps you should reconsider that decision first. One of the main benefits of buying new vs used is the warranty, if you're just going to void it direct then better buy used right? Thanks @LostAndFound for the advice - agree on that, I think I will upgrade to H then.

QUOTE(Kiefer @ Mar 13 2023, 09:50 AM) RM80 a month can be little.. but for 9 years means 108mths x 80 = 8,640. You might want to see if all other extra worth for you or not. If can just get 5 year loan. worst case 6-7 years.. but check the loan offer for all these options. Install with plug and play, no cut wires should not void warranty, should only void the player warranty. Plug n play should be okay.. worst case, swap back to original player if need to claim anything else. hahaha. Hope no claim needed as we want the car to be no major issue. I am only worried more on the dcvt.. but again, the dcvt already years in market from ativa, myvi... Thanks, @Kiefer, for the advice, and I think I will upgrade to the H model for less worries. Just to confirm the Reverse Camera in Alza H is the camera located at the rear car plate area, to aid parking right? Not the rear camera on the back window?

QUOTE(dogbert_chew @ Mar 13 2023, 12:34 PM) Agree with LostFound & Kiefer it is not wise to take 9 year loans for car purchases. (to put it politely) Some sohai might say for better cash flow, can invest the extra cash for better returns blah blah but 99% of buyers plainly do not have the money for higher monthly repayments. Max is 5 year loan to coincide with end of warranty. As for rear camera, my whole family driving without one, me for 4 decades. Why not practise more and do without it. Society getting less capable? Thanks for the advise @dogbet_chew, I will think about the loan tenure period. For the reverse camera it's because I need to reverse park into my house and there are kids. So it's high priority for the reverse camera. But yes I'm still horrible with parallel parking
