My aunty's passport already expired few years ago. Her old passport still with her.
Can she just walk in to UTC to renew straight away?

Or must make appointment 1st?
Can just take photo there right?

I went to UTC shah alam just to replace My IC due to chip rosak . 3rd in line but need to wait another 30-40 mins to collect . Coz i know Upstairs got immigration counter , i went up tried to pick up a number around 8.50 am . To My luck still got number also . Like 40 in queue. From going to counter ( mine old passport hilang so they had to create a report actually ) to taking pic to bayaran to collection . Took up till 1.00 pm .
I would say im satisfied only the waiting can be quite long . Seats are many . Bring a pen and u can print ur IC at the tour agency offices just next to the waiting area .
The UTC shah alam itself has many gov and gov linked counters . Got foodcourt , barber also .
When u sign and pick up the passport, got three types of passport cover official  for sale . The rm25 cover is the nicest one . Regret not buying it .

Just sharing from my personal exp -

For those who were born outside Malaysia, for first time passport application, will have to provide proof of entrance to Malaysia.
For example, in my case, my mom's old passport that contain my picture (toddler) & name in it, that has been verified by customs of the place you were born.

Learned this the hard way. Luckily my mom still keep her old passport.

Where did u make a report of the misplaced passport, at immigration dept or police?
My MIL could not find her misplaced passport at home, already expired few years, still got the passport number & expiry date, what is the process of getting a new passport?
By the way QMS is downloadable from playstore?

Did anyone renew passport online recently? How long did it take before you get the confirmation email to pick up?

I did. Applied yesterday 1010pm, got the email today 845am. I am impressed.

Anyway, can I now just go to the immigration to collect my passport or do I still have to go early morning and take number just for passport collection?

EDIT: Nvm, seached and found my answer. Can just go collect anytime.

Woah, how come mine from Friday night not yet processed. Shouldn't it follow a queue system. Anyways, where is your collection point? Maybe that matters.

I was impressed. I think if I did it during working hours, maybe even faster. I see quite a number of people in this thread got their renewal online within an hour.

Would UTC Keramat be the best to queue on a Sunday morning , or try Kelana Jaya on a weekday ? Need to download QMS app to get number ?

Or would you recommend doing it online ? Haven't tried online before. Is it seamless ? As long as the photo meets requirement right ?
