How much this time, Sony Fons never cheap like China Fon

earlier Xperia 1 VI is 6499 i believe so.. then free WH-1000XM5.. i believe price hike a bit more.. but not sure what is the free gift in msia.

really need to see what is the upgrade over 1 VI.. if not major, i dont think people will going to change.. unless older model users like 1 II..

This MK vii, still with 120hz only and not LTPO 0-120hz? Last time, i sell my mk V because this 120hz was forced to 60hz in certain google apps. Feels very laggy with 60hz only

Last Xperia 5 was the mark V.

They killed the Xperia 5.

MK 6 already LTPO.. that's why battery is good as well as full HD+ screen.. I really can have 2 days battery life or 1.5 days minimum.. See no purpose to upgrade.. as main sensor same, telephoto same.. ultra wide sensor upgrade only.. last year 8 gen 3 performance very good. For those having old models is okay to upgrade. Else can wait..

And the untold upgrade from MK 6 is the LED torch got way brighter much more usable now

I enjoy my MK5 but suddenly start bootloop even after Xperia Companion repair it still happen whenever I restart my device

In Mk6, the auto mode for the camera is it better or below par? I still got my trauma around mk5 last time. Scared to get sony phone

What happened to M5? Coming from Alpha/RX, I don't see issue with the auto mode from my 5M5.

crazy that xperia 1 vi is still being sold at the same price of oneplus 13..

I think Sony dont even intend to make profits/volume from mobile phone sales. They dont care about pricing/sales etc.

Not 5m5 but 1m5..sorry if misleading. To me the auto mode really bad. I know some people will say, if buy sony use pro mode. But the auto mode should be better and on par with other flagship phone. But yeah, it was 2 years ago. But still got trauma from it..haha

1M5 and 5M5 have the same sensor & tuning. Don't see any problem with it.

MK6 auto mode is better in term of AI processing.. much involvement of AI or i should say HDR processing.. quite balance in term of contrast, highlight, shadow.. wont too dull..

even in Pro Mode, there is a Fn called Computational Photo in P mode.. i tend to use basic photo mode and fixed my shutter speed and adjust white balance/exposure (if needed).. the rest i leave it to create the photo for me.. quite easy and i like it so much..

unless i cant just on White Balance, then i will only capture JPEG cause JPEG tend to have noise reduction in system while RAW veery much works under not ideal lighting condition.. so usually, white balance & exposure are correct in first place, jpeg is sufficient for me..

a bit different whereas 1m5 dont have proper 2x algorithm.. 1m5 is digital cropped mode while 5m5 and 1m6 is having switches algorithm to use center of sensor to get actual 12mp. any differences between them? yes.. 2x photo in 5m5 & 1m6 is visible better than 1m5.. the rest of thing like bokeh algoritm are same and new update pushed to 1m5.. with around 40~50% bokeh separation adjustment, the outcome looks good.. the light source became pretty circle bokeh and mimic real optic bokeh.. somehow they have depth of field calculation in place as well.. some portait mode is having human separation.. background is blur, human is clear.. but foreground also clear.. suppose fast aperture should have human clear and background + foreground are blurry.. but if going to complex situation like water bubble spray gun, all smartphone computational portrait mode will fail and we may notice the errors and fake one..

that's big differene between smartphone computational bokeh vs camera optics bokeh..

Not a fans of the stupid fake bokeh no matter how good it is. In terms of stacking to achieve dynamic range + noise, it looks natural and resembles the Alpha line.

ya.. indeed.. smartphone computational cant compete with real optics bokeh..

auto mode, dynamic range & noise reduction processing is very good and natural.. the main sensor is really good.. if ultrawide follow the same sensor/Exmor T technology, i may consider it.. cause i dont have any ultra wide lens for my camera.. daily time, ultrawide & wide angle are much fit to my lifestyle.. any long focal length, i will have my camera cover those..

one thing i am looking forward is that more creative looks filter in smartphone.. and for telephoto macro feature, enable/give option to use to use volume button to adjust manual focus.. it will be much easier than sliding it.. for now, i double tap the icon of Wide/Zoom to adjust focus point precisely.. usually give me very good results especially on smartphone..

hopefully this time can capture fly eyes closeup like the vivo x100 ultra
