QUOTE(forte_cyber @ Aug 26 2022, 09:35 AM) For handling, I can say is comparable. But I noticed lesser body roll in HRV when cornering, probably due to its stiffer suspension. Its my first time driving SUV, compared to sedan, this HRV set up in terms of its handling is pretty good as for SUV, i noticed the sound proofing is also good, hardly can hear engine noise. |

QUOTE(hus2020 @ Aug 26 2022, 11:26 AM) Its super small. Since it works only on the right side usb, I used glue tag and stick it on the side panel near to the foot rest. If you want smoother connection, connect via WiFi. Lesser lag. There is small lag, of course usb connection is better, but having it wireleslly auto connect in 30s of ignition is just so convenient. |

I too installed my wife’s car dashcam with Sicurez. Quite good, but make sure you are there watching their work - my wife’s car was the first new HR-V to be installed there, but according to them it was quite similar to the old one.Saw got a lot of good comment on their workmanship, their google review looks promising. Also, if you plan to install the anti-static film/plastic, do inform them earlier as they don’t install it and don’t recommend to install them - I installed it anyway since it makes it easier to take the dashcam off when required |

QUOTE(ads398 @ Aug 26 2022, 11:47 PM) may i ask how is their wiring / workmanship? is it hidden or just run along the side. wire connected to 12v or go into internal? If wire connected to 12V fuse box, high chances warranty void on electronics stuff. Want to retain 5 years warranty, only option is plugging thru USB/12V socket plug. I’ve ask Honda SC and that’s what they answered. isr25 liked this post

Oh good to hear that. Any particular reason why those static film is not recommended? Afraid break in and thief stole the dvr i guess? Also, if you plan to install the anti-static film/plastic, do inform them earlier as they don’t install it and don’t recommend to install them - I installed it anyway since it makes it easier to take the dashcam off when required |

QUOTE(monkedz @ Aug 26 2022, 09:30 PM) Yea, thats the price to pay if dont wanna risk for warranty void QUOTE(ads398 @ Aug 26 2022, 11:47 PM) may i ask how is their wiring / workmanship? is it hidden or just run along the side. wire connected to 12v or go into internal? Its hidden and wire is connected to internal. Since its Honda's official accessories, won't affect warranty. |

Next thing i hope Honda would offer 360 camera and power boot as part of their official accessories line up. Im sure the sale of this 2 accessories will do quite well.

Thats weird, SC and SA that I came from mentioned that if its pnp and it doesn't involve wire tapping / cutting of the existiing wires there shouldn't be any issue in the warranty. On the warranty booklet its too general and doesn't cover much, 'any alteration or modification will void warranty of the related component' something like this. Haha |

They say it’s because a number of cars that they installed with the static film came back and the dash cam has dropped - they claim that the static film is not as firm as sticking it directly on the windshield / tint. I call bull la, I installed it on my FE for 7 months now, never dropped - and I parked under the hot sun every work day. They just malas since they have to align the static film properly before sticking the dashcam on it.QUOTE(Area51SE @ Aug 27 2022, 10:56 AM) Next thing i hope Honda would offer 360 camera and power boot as part of their official accessories line up. Most likely it would be on the facelift model, or the next gen HR-V.QUOTE(CheaTeRz @ Aug 27 2022, 10:58 AM) Thats weird, SC and SA that I came from mentioned that if its pnp and it doesn't involve wire tapping / cutting of the existiing wires there shouldn't be any issue in the warranty. Depends on SC actually, but you never know that if you claim warranty for anything electrical and they deny it based on the hardwire. Safest method is, if you hardwire your dashcam, be prepared to remove it if you want to claim warranty for anything electrical related. On the warranty booklet its too general and doesn't cover much, 'any alteration or modification will void warranty of the related component' something like this. Especially those dashcam with parking mode feature requires hardwire tapping normally at fuse box to obtain 12V, ACC and GND. I did ask Honda SC if I can tap from the fuse with a separate cable with additional fuse. He said NO. 😞On the warranty booklet its too general and doesn't cover much, 'any alteration or modification will void warranty of the related component' something like this. Haha |
