I just chat with Apple support, the support told me they outside Singapore number is end with 5171, so this 5170 probably is scammer 🤔

yeap, cannot be calling to recall product without valid reasons..good that you check with apple support....

Had a call with apple malaysia and singapore. No records of replacements for my device.

received the call again. told them i need to verify with apple and they said just ask me to call the malaysia helpline and provide them with serial number... not pushy or anything.. if it's a scam they aren't doing a good job....

i suggest just ignore the call, since apple already confirmed no such issue, plus any big news about recalling the macbook will appear all over the news already..

scam or not scam, why would they call you?
an email to your apple id is more sensible..

These scammers getting more creative. Anyway recalls can be checked on the website by serial number. But the scary part is they know who purchased the macbook and the contacts

Hey guyssssss, finally I got my 16Gb customized unit MacBook air m2, it really takes a month to get the laptop. As Switch said, they will make orders from the factory, gather all the stock together, and ship it to Malaysia, so it will take longer to deliver the laptop.
I've been using it to work for few days, and it's a superb laptop, and a good choice switching from my MacBook pro 2015. No regret!

Just got back my laptop from Machines Northpoint Service Centre today. They replaced the motherboard and trackpad.

Had an issue last month where my keyboard and trackpad were not functioning. Took them close to a month to repair it.

What could be the root caused that triggered this issue ya?

Not quite sure. But Machines took some time to repair as they didn't know which part was faulty.

I'm guessing it's just a one-off faulty track pad!
