Anyone have any experience of purchasing customise MacBook from switch retailer? I have ordered a MacBook Air m2 16gb ram from them because they provide instalment option, but I didn't get any ETA updates or tracking to my order, but I believe they are doing the same things as making order from the apple official website, so I think the ETA might almost the same with the one that official website shown?

I bought my custom unit directly from Apple website, didn't know Switch provide such services ohmy.gif

If I knew they got provide such services with instalment plan, I'll definitely purchase from them.

Thanks for sharing the info thumbup.gif

yes they do, but i would 100% recommend buying from apple's website if you are not in a rush to get it, due to their perfect after sales service, 1 to 1 exchange and etc. for example, if your unit has a scratch on it, you can immediately get it changed from apple, if you buy it from Switch, they will mostly decline such cases (they will blame it on the consumer wear and tear issue).

Yup I’ve check with Switch and Machines, but only Switch are providing this service so I decided to make order from them since only based model are available in store. But I just curious whether it really needs 1 or 1.5 month to delivered to me since I assume they are making order through the official website also (maybe with a special retailer account?) , so wanna check if anyone have the same experience since I don’t think I could take so long to arrived.

I think maybe like you said, they need to use a special retailer account or maybe needs to go through some internal processes that's why it takes about 1 or 1.5 month.

I ordered my custom unit directly from Apple and received it in less than 2 weeks rclxms.gif

already increased. can see from iPhone 14 price. If continue to increase, then they will update price as well.
So far based on my comparison price, buy from SG is more expensive (after conversion)

Guys. I updated to MacOS Ventura Beta and my trackpad and keyboard isn’t working. Forced to use external keyboard and mouse. Anyone else encountered this?

Anyone managed go get a case for their macbook air m2? None of the retailers seems to have any Uniq case or other brands.

I didn't get any case because someone told me that if you use a casing to cover your MacBook, it might affect the cooling and it might get more heated. I'm not really sure since I didn't get a casing to try it myself sweat.gif

I got myself a Razer sleeve to cover it only when I'm on the move sweat.gif

Yeah. Agreed. Indeed casing is totally not needed for MacBook. Sleeve is really a better option on the go.

Temperatures are normal with no heating issues. Though, I am not doing intense workloads.

I prefer no cases too but I want to keep it pristine cause I might be careless

yes it does, best to use as it is without any casing etc, i see my colleagues mbp14" casing causes scratches and etc, worse is the thermal (it gets heat up easier than without case)...at best i think a keyboard protector is fine (although not recommended too)..

From what I've read in some older MacBooks, when a keyboard protector was used it caused the screen to crack as the clearance between keyboard and screen is very minimal when it is closed.

So something to carefully consider.

agree, there is always a risk of cracking the hinge etc... best is to use it naked... also for best user experience..
