Placed order on 24th July 2022 and it was delivered on 2nd August 2022. The shipping was surprisingly fast and earlier than the expected delivery date rclxms.gif

I've bought the 8-Core CPU, 10-Core GPU, 512GB SSD and upgraded the Unified Memory to 16GB. I only started using it for about a week because I was hospitalised and needs to undergo surgery sweat.gif

After a week of usage, I'm very satisfied with the performance. I upgraded the memory to 16GB because most of the time I need to run Parallels Desktop for my work so most of the time I run both macOS and Windows at the same time.

I don't feel any heat at all even I'm working from home without turning on air condition, the MacBook Air M2 doesn't feels hot or even warm at all and the best part because there's no fan in it, it's just complete silence thumbup.gif

My last MacBook was the MacBook Air 13-inch dated back in 2015 with i7 processor, 256GB SSD and 8GB memory. Decided to purchase and upgrade to the new M2 because lately most of the applications and OS needed more resources in order to perform and my old MacBook Air keeps giving me the 'colour wheel' issue which kinda frustrated me. Not to mentioned it gets heated up most of the time and kinda hot to touch it.

I'm very happy with the new MacBook Air M2 and I've got no complain at all. Although it's a bit pricey after upgrading the memory but I think it worth it and hopefully it can last me about 7 to 8 years like my previous MacBook Air happy.gif

I've bought the space grey colour. Went to see the the Midnight colour at Machines but doesn't come to my liking and Starlight is too striking for me rolleyes.gif

Hope you guys are loving the new MacBook Air M2 like I do wub.gif

Anyone have any experience of purchasing customise MacBook from switch retailer? I have ordered a MacBook Air m2 16gb ram from them because they provide instalment option, but I didn't get any ETA updates or tracking to my order, but I believe they are doing the same things as making order from the apple official website, so I think the ETA might almost the same with the one that official website shown?

I bought my custom unit directly from Apple website, didn't know Switch provide such services ohmy.gif

If I knew they got provide such services with instalment plan, I'll definitely purchase from them.

Thanks for sharing the info thumbup.gif

Yup I’ve check with Switch and Machines, but only Switch are providing this service so I decided to make order from them since only based model are available in store. But I just curious whether it really needs 1 or 1.5 month to delivered to me since I assume they are making order through the official website also (maybe with a special retailer account?) , so wanna check if anyone have the same experience since I don’t think I could take so long to arrived.
*
I think maybe like you said, they need to use a special retailer account or maybe needs to go through some internal processes that's why it takes about 1 or 1.5 month.

I ordered my custom unit directly from Apple and received it in less than 2 weeks rclxms.gif

Anyone managed go get a case for their macbook air m2? None of the retailers seems to have any Uniq case or other brands.
*
I didn't get any case because someone told me that if you use a casing to cover your MacBook, it might affect the cooling and it might get more heated. I'm not really sure since I didn't get a casing to try it myself sweat.gif

I got myself a Razer sleeve to cover it only when I'm on the move sweat.gif

Which razer sleeve did you get? the sleeve v2 13.3 inches? Apparently the Razer sleeve v2 13.3 sleeve cannot fit the macbook air m2 as the screen size is 13.6.
*
I'm using the Razer Neoprene Sleeve V2 - For 13.3" Notebooks and there's quite plenty of space for the M2 MacBook Air as it doesn't really fit perfectly coz the MacBook tend to me slightly smaller ya.

I purchase it from Shopee, the link as below ya:-
https://shopee.com.my/Razer-Neoprene-Sleeve...7256.8110968035

Before I made the purchase, I clarify with Razer and when they told me that the sleeve fit then only I make the purchase.

Just got back my laptop from Machines Northpoint Service Centre today. They replaced the motherboard and trackpad.

Had an issue last month where my keyboard and trackpad were not functioning. Took them close to a month to repair it.
*
What could be the root caused that triggered this issue ya? confused.gif

Not quite sure. But Machines took some time to repair as they didn't know which part was faulty.

I'm guessing it's just a one-off faulty track pad!
*
When you received back your laptop, Machines doesn't come out with a diagnostic report? sweat.gif

Ended the just replaced the trackpad for you or the whole unit?

I’m considering this between the 13 inch pro p,since 14 inch one is way too expensive.
Any issues with heat ah?since they don’t operate with fan, and I’m not in air one room 24hours/7.
*
I am using M2 512GB with upgraded RAM to 16GB.

Using it for work and productivity like emails, excel, word, PowerPoint sometimes YouTube and browsing on both Safari and Chrome.

Will run Parallel Desktop on Windows 11 and running macOS at the same time because some office task that I do needs to run in Windows OS.

I've been working from home since last year and I didn't on air condition in my living room and so far my M2 are fine. Don't even feel any heat at all.

Mild warm maybe yes but really barely feel it and won't makes your finger or palm discomfort, but for sure the weather these fews days are much much hotter than my M2. laugh.gif

Guys what do you guys suggest me to do with my MBA with faulty usb-c ports? Only can use for browsing etc..haha.. unless I do everything via cloud ...hahah
Using an old windows laptop now for work  sweat.gif  sweat.gif

Just curious, did you or someone from the company installed anti-virus or use your MBA to join company's domain that disable USB port due to company policy?

My company's laptop disable all USB port and doesn't allow to transfer any data via USB and block all access to the cloud. Basically the USB-C port only can be use as charging port only.

Nah man.. its my personal mac, and it has been formatted a few times for diagnostics n troubleshooting. Im trying to use more cloud based storage since i cant use usb storage. Have yet to send it to another 3rd party mac repair.
*
Sorry to hear that man. If your MBA warranty has expires or these issue doesn't covers in the warranty (that's why they quoted you for RM3.3k for the repair), you can consider to bring your MBA to third party technician to have do a diagnosis and see what's their findings.

If the price are reasonable, can consider to get it fixed instead of just using these 2 precious port as just a pure charging port only sweat.gif

P/S: Have you tried using those USB-C extension that gives you extra USB-A ports, HDMI and RJ45 port? If yes, does those works?
