Quad core is future-proof for at least 3-4 years.. tat's why i'm waiting Q9450  sad.gif future games will utilise quadcore technology.
*
It "should" be sufficient if you are not too into technology. LOL..

It was just a few years ago where people are talking about how powerful dual core is as compared to single core. And just when they went mainstream and affordable, there came quad core. All of a sudden, the so powerful dual core become kinda "slow". LOL...

sounds impossible for a quad to drop that far except for Q6600 which is already in range.

^ If you're talking about affordable quads that'll be AMD's underpowered Phenom 9500/9550 la.

Bear in mind, it took the Q6600 about 1 year to really drop into an affordable range. tongue.gif

Really depends on whether you need 4-cores or not..... for the same price, you could get a faster dual-core that is relatively cooler and overclocks better too..... smile.gif

Yeah, if 90% gaming and 10% movie, quad core would not be the choice (even though the OEM quads are cheap but short warranty).....

I'd say go for dual-core.... you can still get quad next time when more games/apps uses 4-cores... smile.gif

Even my E6750 was more than enough for me, gaming and all.... some more OC to 3.5Ghz no sweat.... upgraded to quad just because of folding... laugh.gif

well since quad is not really preferred, would e7200 be a good choice? price-wise i think it suits my budget. might replace my e4400 soon.
