oh, then May is a good month to get a new rig to replace my 7-year old AMD system, by that time Penryn and HD3870 would be cheaper too laugh.gif
i was thinking about holding back till AMD refine their Phenom and release their AM3, but think Intel is still the way to go smile.gif

ya Intel are releasing P45 mobo an upgrade version of P35 mobo with PCIE 2.0 with affordable  price~~~ P45 will replace P35  laugh.gif  and this time P45 will have 2 PCIE slot with PCIE 2.0 but running speed at 8X and 8X if you using crossfire  laugh.gif
*
don't think will be such soon.
should be after april.

QUOTE(cyew86 @ Feb 28 2008, 09:29 PM)
oh, that's great news laugh.gif when will it be released? drool.gif
i guess budget consumers like me won't think about doing crossfire (won't be getting a "affordable" mobo if reli wanna do crossfire, isn't it? x48 is the way to go smile.gif )
*
just get an x38 board will do.

x48 is not worth to wait as it's more expensive and has nearly no improvement from x38.

some manufacturers still will make x48 with ddr2 support due to skyhigh price of ddr3 RAM.

x48 will run in DDR2/DDR3... but the price I think is gonna be increase by resellers cos they still have x38 in hand... Best buy would be x38 i think...

i doubt p45 price would be as cheap as p35 if they want to put in 2 pci-e slot.......they cant cut the board size and sacrifice other functions

btw x 38 is expensive and limited choices too.........
