Any news on Q9450 yet?

I looked at PCZONE's list, it listed Q9450 in it already but no price, it stated "NEW" nia..  unsure.gif

two months to go.

ya Intel are releasing P45 mobo an upgrade version of P35 mobo with PCIE 2.0 with affordable  price~~~ P45 will replace P35  laugh.gif  and this time P45 will have 2 PCIE slot with PCIE 2.0 but running speed at 8X and 8X if you using crossfire  laugh.gif
*
don't think will be such soon.
should be after april.

QUOTE(cyew86 @ Feb 28 2008, 09:29 PM)
oh, that's great news laugh.gif when will it be released? drool.gif
i guess budget consumers like me won't think about doing crossfire (won't be getting a "affordable" mobo if reli wanna do crossfire, isn't it? x48 is the way to go smile.gif )
*
just get an x38 board will do.

x48 is not worth to wait as it's more expensive and has nearly no improvement from x38.

was told that X48 only supports DDR3 rams rite ?  laugh.gif
*
some manufacturers still will make x48 with ddr2 support due to skyhigh price of ddr3 RAM.

well those alreayd have q6600 dun find it's quite worth the trouble to get a Q9450, most q6600 can hit 3.6ghz easily while upgrade means u try to get something above that too like 4 ghz may be. to hit 4ghz, ur 45nm proc need to run at 500mhz fsb is most likely hard to achieve.

May be this is intel marketing startegy, force buyer to fock out more to get QX series instead. well may be we shall wait for q9650 instead hehe, like QX6700 become q6700
*
it's not as easy as you think to oc q6600 to 3.6ghz.
yes, it's quite easy if you are using x38 or high end p35 board.
most of the p35 board needs high vcore to reach that speed.

huu that's why if u guys got the money just go for q9650.. even q9450 also wont differ much. 470x8 = 3760.. most of q6600 go can go to that speed easily as well.. plus higher chance to go to its max (around 4-4.1ghz).. but q9450 surely cant due to fsb limitation
*
ya, I've seen a few units of retail q9450 cant get pass 3.7ghz on air. doh.gif doh.gif
quite disappointing for me.
was hoping to see lotsa 4ghz results... sweat.gif
