CFMoto from China assembled locally, u don't have to buy, but can search for owners club and tune in. you have a point, so make sure their service center is nearby.

piang = JT = lari bank: sorry i dunno where this term from, but ppl posted before and can search facebook got ppl memang do business deal with such vehicles
*
oh damn.. but im not gonna do it ah. What for wanna get blacklisted by banks
btw to TS, R25 and MT25 has plastic fuel tank covers, they're not metal if not mistaken. So if you use it for daily ride to work, can't put tank bag cuz they usually use magnets
Unless you plan to use box or backpack everyday

Where's CFMoto from? I usually don't trust all these copy cats brands though.
later spoil scared no parts to fix

what do you mean by piang bike? as in hide in chinese? Hide the bike?
damn if 4x more than it is still tough to maintain if don't have the budget..

i dont agree when you said cfmoto is copy cat without take some look on it. i am first batch of 250nk owner. Have no much complain on it except not enough juice while on highway. city ride is good. maintenance is cheap, rm10+ for oil filter. engine oil only need 1.4L as it is single cylinder. clocking 27k km now and still going on. For spare part wise, the factory is at Penang, and any cfmoto authorized dealer can help you to order all those spare parts and it reach less than 3 days(my experience). What? still expensive? then go take a look at taobao and order from there with 10-30% cost reduced.

partly I would say some couldn't afford higher cc's. Can't afford to maintain, hence the sambung bayar culture also. Can pay the downpayment for a B-full bike, but then couldn't afford to pay the instalment afterwards.
or couldn't afford the maintenance.
Also because of the power of the 'L' license in malaysia. Go get an 'L', stick it to your bike and you're good to go. I've seen a guy on a z800, with L sticker, just zig zagging around on the Federal Highway, rev-bombing people for not giving way to him then points a middle finger.

So some people see there's no point in getting a B Full when a L can just get them the same thing..

How much of a difference in cost of maintenance between a 600cc and a 250cc though?

I only know tyres probably are the biggest difference due to jump in size.

I feel attacked but thankfully it's Federal Highway(I'm milessss away) so not me phewwww. I don't do the finger tho sweat.gif

Anyway ts, I came from 125cc clutch bike. Got myself a used z8(non-abs) early this year. My first ever big cc bike. Just for fun. Not for daily, work stuff. But I rode it almost daily anyway laugh.gif
3 months of usage, almost 8k km covered. EO change roughly Rm200 for oil filter and 4 bottles of EO. Done it twice already. First was Castrol Ultimate and last one was Caltex Havoline. A pair of Metzeler roadtec 01 cost me rm900.
Of course these depends on cheap vs expensive stuff.

How much would an overhaul and major service typically cost though? Looking at several bikes in the long run, preferably inline 4s because hurr durr sbk sound but am concerned about cost of major servicing compared to twins

I met one guy, he buys a fully serviced bike, done VC, use for 1 year or less, then maybe just change EO one time, and keep within 12k km, post up to sell. copy paste ex-owner service record, and shift major overhaul responsibility to the next sucker.

he's been through all the zx10r gsxr z800 z900 r1 r6 s1000rr-1234 ducati bikes etc and making profit along the way, and his cost is just for the first bike he actually bought.

can check out Kratos page for suspension service recommended every 20k
maybe u can find ppl do cheaper but they're not kratos level

engine wise, 2k to 10k standby. can check out price for engine lantai, or price from GMT bike parts facebook selling full engine becoz sometimes worth to just buy whole engine than overhaul if too expensive

haha didn't mean to offend or attack anybody. Just saying that's how flawed our system is.. L sticker allows you to ride any bike without cc limit.
3 months of usage and you clocked 8k km but changed EO twice? ohmy.gif
4k km per change?

damn.. I thought standard for all bikes are like 10k km per change isn't it?
forgive me as im a noob, just starting to learn and know more about bikes.
I myself am interested in z800 as well. Mean looking machine. otherwise z900 but way out of budget. cry.gif

to me, copy cat is defined in looks. Like how last time Demak tried to copy KTM if not mistaken?
and do me cfmoto looks way to similar to KTM dukes too.
engine wise not sure, just the looks of it..

5k km for fully, 3k km for semi to be safe.
Previous owner did oil change before left it inside the house for 6 months. Didn't even start.
When I got there, literally had to push start it. Battery KO-ed laugh.gif
Hence why I did the first oil change after clocking 2-3k km(Castrol Ultimate black bottle). Didn't want to take risk(z8 infamous valve issue) with 6 month old EO. 2nd oil change(Caltex Havoline fully) after clocking another 5k km.

Of course mine here are cheap fully. If those Ester/PAO whatnot fully, at least rm50 or more per 1L of bottle. So far I'm using Vesrah oil filter(OF). Cost the same as original. About rm40-50 for a piece. Scared of getting fake Kawasaki OF hence why Vesrah.
I did the change myself.

Yep. 4 pot sounds drool.gif
L twin also sound nice. Blade 650(poor man Ducati) if we want to experiment things brows.gif
Z900 comes with modern features, tech stuff. Might upgrade to one. Will see. Another naked or maybe a sport after this laugh.gif

Forgot about one. Underrated Suzuki. S750 or r750.
For new naked as of today, s750 bang for buck I would say. Some might look at mt09. Personally still prefer 4 pot sounds drool.gif

Hi sifus here! want to get a bike to start riding after getting L license to pracrise for Full B.
With limited budget less than 10k, what do you think of Kawasaki Z250SL or Z250. The 2014/2015 model is below 10k.

First bike? Skip, find something with ABS

Second bike(cub bikes count) or more? Skip the SL unless you're tight on budget or specifically looking for single cyl, go for the older Ninja250 or Z250 parallel twin. Avoid the early version Dominars as your first full sized bike, 180+kg is no joke. You'll see a lot of cheap ads for it at your price range since the new BS6 UG version has been in Malaysia for a year already.
