I hold 90% of stablecoin (since usd at 4.12)

10% in cash/fiat

Every month will sell usdt/usdc to fiat for expenses.

Is this your personal experience?
Feel sorry for you if that's the case. Majority of IT employees have flexibility in regards of their working hours + hybrid working policy. Im barely 8hours per day and only 1day per week in office.

You're at the wrong company if you have to work 12hours and weekend too.time to jump ship bro like seriously šŸ˜‚

once you wfh, the working hour would be super long as bosses will think you are accessable anytime from any timezone. if you were in management position, the workload would be even higher.

I see you really love auditing. How is the work life balance ?

I am no auditor myself but my friend is totally stressed out working in audit firm ( especially big4 ). Everyday crying OTW to work, everyday ( including weekend ) work until 2am.

It is really sad that auditor despite being a professional but can be having worst work-life balance job out there, compared to engineer, doctors and lawyers.

That's quite a jump from 2021 to 2022. You joined as manager in 2021?

Your friend girl or guy? Just asking. But seriously, if feel that way everyday, think its better to really consider whether want to keep working in audit or not. Or is it ur friend wants to get the practical experience first?

A girl. So it is true that if choosing audit , then there will be no work life balance? Family and enjoyment in life will be ignored for sure? She loves auditing but it just gives her too much of stress and no time to do things she likes. She is thinking to move on to accounting to have a normal life since she already has around 4 years of experience in audit. But it is still a struggle for her since she really loves auditing

Depends on which firm and which team/department also..got many stories wan, you can search previous LYN threads, there's even a Big 4 thread in this subforum. Why she loves auditing if the culture is like that? She likes the work itself? Or the pay is high?

Hey guys, would like some advice here please smile.gif

I am job hunting for better job scope and salary. Currently working as a DBA with a very bad startup company. I entered the company experienced but paid fresh grad salary, no WFH or hybrid at all, probation until 6 months and during probation cannot apply AL, if want to AL then pay cut. Work OT every weekend and when chasing deadlines, until late at night + weekends but no OT payment. Boss also like to micromanage, when I ignored his messages and calls during weekends because I was exhausted from working, the next Monday I go to office he will talk to me without looking at my face as if he's mad because I ignored him confused.gif

Honestly I'm trying to change career path to a Data Engineer or something related to ETL, as somehow I really like the process of extracting data from DB or websites and all that stuff but it's REALLY difficult to get a junior/entry level DE job now as every job posts saying they require 5-7 YOE. I accepted my current job offer during Covid because I was scared of being unemployed, before that I was a Data Analyst for an O&G company (contract).

So a few weeks ago a recruiter approached me on LinkedIn for a job opportunity with the same O&G company I worked with before, as a DBA. But it will be a renewable contract job, if there are projects that still need me to work for them, they'll renew my contract. And my payroll, benefits, bonus, etc will be managed by the recruiter's company. So it's an indirect hire. Here's the catch. The salary that they offered me is more than double my current salary, 108% salary increment, hybrid work and better work culture (I've worked there before so I'm familiar with the work culture). I also attended one interview with local bank for Junior DE position but they are VEERYY slow with the hiring process that I have given up already.

So here I am torn between going with the O&G contract job with great salary but staying on the same career path OR continue job hunting for the new career path that I desire.
What is the best course of action here guys? Would really appreciate your 2 cents, I'll try to consider all opinions biggrin.gif

Why not just take up the new offer and continue jobhunting?

At least you don't need to endure long hours, bad culture and getting x2 money at the same time

Unless, you are very sure your next offer is coming very soon

I have similar experience like you, that time my ex-employer (an IT vendor company) offer me 50% increase, then I straight away hopped back to my ex-company tongue.gif

But I knew that job scope is not what I really enjoy, so I continue looking for other opportunities slowly (secretly) rolleyes.gif

primary objective of work is $

sh*t boss, how fast next interview come << out of your control

DBA, Data engineer just a tittle, do some training your if you really interested with certain topic << this is under your control

even if the bank offer/better permanent offer come after you join back contract job, nothing stop you from moving again, it is valid reason to move from temp job to permanent one. Some more is IT, no one bother if you hop really because everyone is doing it, it is just the way market and the industry works.
