normally in MNC company, how much % increment will be given when they use my payslip to get the offer?
*
Never show hand at the stage of interview or even negotiations

1. Do research of the role online, make comparison

After that, You can ask them, what is their budget for this role.

Inform them, you love to join their company, and believe the company would offer a competitive and fair compensation based on your experience and skills, what you can bring to the company

If they still adamant to get your payslip, politely tell them you will share your payslip after you signed any offer / contract

Leverage your experience/skill. Don’t let them lowball the offer based on your payslip

Take the risk and jump in with a faith
That’s what I did 5 years ago, when most people skeptical about crypto and shit talk about crypto

I guess it bore result and fruit for me ,if by income as indicator for success compare most Malaysian .. usd140k/annum as fixed salary excluding bonus

With bonus will get usd200k/annum

I have 3 team that report to me now

Hey Teddy, can I ask you some questions?

How to get a job like yours? Not your current position, the first position you got when you broke into the crypto industry.

And I'm assuming that your current team is international? In a role like this, how important is your English proficiency?
Like do you have to talk to the team frequently and if having an accent would prevent someone from getting promoted?

And great job by the way. You're doing really well.

For current blockchain, web3 and NFT, you can easily broke into this industry by simply active on Twitter, Reddit, and Discord

Join many project, learn about and active in their community, by helping and share knowledge. You will get notice of the team member and may get invite to be part of team

If you have technical knowledge, build your own project or task on github, share with project that you want to be part of them , either to learn or get paid doing something for them

Communication is the key. Unless you are a technical person, and focus on tech, then accent doesn’t matter.

But for front facing or management, you need to be good at communication I.e clear in delivering the key point and message, guide and mentor the team

Accent doesn’t matter tbh, just need to be clear in communication

My English has weird accent but I can communicate well haha

Super awesome man. I am currently learning blockchain development, specifically ethereum. I aim to be a solidity developer but open to the other area as well (any EVM compatible blockchain). But I wonder how can you work with 3 companies at the same time? Is this a permanent position?

Contractual basis, not permanent

Since the crypto market is down, did the companies adjust your salary accordingly? For example, if the company has agreed to pay you 1eth per month. At that time, 1eth=3k USD, but now 1eth=1k USD. So, will the companies pay you 3eth now to compensate for the eth price drop, or are you still getting 1eth?
*
I got paid in usdt and usdc

So no worries about market dump

so far how frequent you sell it and how many % you will keep for the stable coin
*
I hold 90% of stablecoin (since usd at 4.12)

10% in cash/fiat

Every month will sell usdt/usdc to fiat for expenses.

Congrats cuddlybubblyteddy, those are fantastic prospects you have there! I hear about more people jumping into this space even despite the down market smile.gif

I myself would like to consider opportunities in this space, but I'm concerned since crypto/blockchain is considered a risky industry here from what I've read. I have a couple of questions on this, if you don't mind helping to answer them I would be most grateful:

1. Since you are paid in crypto, I presume at some point you have to convert it to fiat to spend it. How do you do this, do you convert crypto > USD > MYR?
-P2P platform. Bybit, Binance, OkX, Huobi.
- through friends sometimes

2. Since BNM / SC have marked crypto industry as risky and your annual income is high, your bank would have noticed when you transferred money in. Did they call you up to ask where the funds came from and if so, what sort of docs should one have from their foreign employer for this?
Never got this problem.. I did like rm50k on certain day. transfer in/out .. didn’t get any call.
3. Is there chance of bank freezing your MYR account since its from crypto?
No, just make sure all your trf doesn’t state crypto or exchanges name
4. If you work with crypto/blockchain companies, but they pay you in USD/EUR/GBP instead of crypto, would you still be flagged by the banks for working in the industry?
No, I receive in SGD at Singapore account for some payment.
5. Can you recommend banks in Malaysia that are crypto friendly?
No bank in Malaysia is crypto friendly lol

6. Can you use the earnings from crypto to build / improve your credit rating with the banks so you can get higher CC limit, car loan, housing loan etc?
There is a way to route this. Negotiate with the company to hire a HR BPO, example Papaya Global. Papaya Global will arrange all the EPF, Taxes, and salary in MYR for you under their company. One of project did that for me, after taxes monthly rm33k (Malaysia tax is sad)
Only this way you can get higher CC and get loan

7. How would one start to join the crypto community in Malaysia? Any telegram groups, forums, meetups in KL that you can recommend?
They are cryptocurrency thread on forum.lowyat.net
You can start from there.

Life has been busy, some changes to my career as well.

I resigned from all 3 project that paid total usd140k, joined an Australia company for USD144k/annum with USD30k/year equity’s

However I had some health condition, decided to quit as well and since then has been a staying home dad for past 6 months. Recently another company in Singapore reach out and still In discussions (basic package: sgd18k-sgd20k/month)

For your questions, let me response.
