QUOTE(westlife @ Jul 17 2022, 04:30 AM) ... Test at master bedroom (child node) Managed to bring down the loaded latency after swapping the nodes. ... Wow, very nice performance. Your mesh nodes are all wireless right? Anyway tri-band ftw for wireless setups. Here got a few tests with Deco M9. https://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopi...post&p=96378294

QUOTE(josh5671 @ Jul 19 2022, 03:12 PM) lol..your word with the picture you attach be like: Keep an eyes on the pole, if you see TM's monkey working it, it will be very fast. no offense to anyone mentioned in this reply. #jokeaside that optical cable hanging already 1~2 week ago....no new progress yet. Careful ya. l8r u get reported. Your post is the one with TM and monkey in the same sentence. Me, that's the only photo I have of the pole and fibre box. (actually a screen grab of a video I sent to Jabatan Perhilitan) Those are Dusky Leaf monkeys, btw. They got white Elton John style spectacles. https://news.cgtn.com/news/2019-09-02/Monke...NvSo/index.htmlThis post has been edited by soonwai: Jul 20 2022, 01:18 AM

QUOTE(tng55 @ Jul 19 2022, 11:49 PM) monkey daam can easy damage fiber cable all house will get LOS Red In all honesty, whether it's this type of mammal or another, my prayers are the same: please don't screw up my internet. About 3 years ago, my poor neighbour's Unifi was out for 27 days because the cable to her house was pulled out. Though in that case, it wasn't a Dusky Leaf monkey. Apparently there was a mix-up and during an installation, someone disconnected her fibre and used her port for another house.

QUOTE(josh5671 @ Jul 20 2022, 09:25 AM) ... LoL? How this even happened? Dont tell me that another house installer doesnt check? ... QUOTE(akhito @ Jul 20 2022, 09:30 AM) well kena be4 my house, the installer that cabut mine say salah system messup wor Yah, same thing with my neighbour. System messed up somehow and installer saw that the port was unused or port was allocated to the new install. Because the port is now connected to another house, when my neighbour make report, TM support will check and all they can see is that port/modem is connected. Macam ini ding-dong for a week with TM resetting port, off/on router and suggesting that the router is at fault. Then send technician baru can see LOS on modem but system show modem connected. All confused. Finally send team to check the fibre outside the house. Even when problem was found, cannot simply cabut out so another few days before they came back to reconnect the cable. Nasib baik still got port free. This post has been edited by soonwai: Jul 20 2022, 11:23 AM

QUOTE(borneoman1 @ Jul 20 2022, 11:42 AM) How much would the full cost of the 100Mbps and 300Mbps packages be respectively, if any tax/service charges are added? Still rm159 (although some kiosks here quote rm129) and rm199? Add 6% for SST. So for RM159: 160x2x3 =320x3 -> 960-6 -> 954/100 -> 159+9.54 -> 168.54+0.01 RM168.55 This post has been edited by soonwai: Jul 20 2022, 11:52 AM

QUOTE(YoungMan @ Jul 21 2022, 09:33 AM) What's so good about the free router that it is worth to renew contract? It's something tangible that can be converted to cash and almost always a free router will come with a free DC adapter and free cables.

QUOTE(velarous @ Jul 25 2022, 01:13 AM) Hey guys, Anyone got any issues in the ampang jaya selangor area? I've done the standard troubleshooting but im getting 5-10mbps downloads but good upload speeds 250-300mbps. With VPN I am getting better downloads around 200Mbps. What could be the issue? Should be TM side right? Tried getting different IP range and they've done the port reset also same problem. On the 800mbps plan btw. My cousin who lives in a house near Spectrum told me today was OK but he had problems last week. Didn't go into detail though. Yours is house or condo? QUOTE(westlife @ Jul 26 2022, 07:00 PM) hi guys, for those of you who have experienced with mesh wifi. can advise on this? why dual-band node as child i never never get full speed even my dual-band node is with excellent signal to the parent node but if use tri-band node as child does not have such issue for the exact same physical locations for these nodes as per diagram? Is the dual-band node expects to have half the speed? Scenario ONE Scenario TWO The dual-band node is receiving from the main node and transmitting to your device simultaneously using its single 5Ghz radio so you basically get half the speed. Turn it around and the tri-band node dedicates one radio to receive and another to transmit. Both at full speed.

QUOTE(westlife @ Jul 26 2022, 07:34 PM) Ic. So if do not have all nodes as tri-band, by just switching the ‘lousier’ as parent can save the $$. Icic. Until you have 5Ghz devices connected to the downstairs dual-band node. Speeds will drop since the single 5Ghz now have to service both its devices as well as upstairs node.
