I just want to share my experience applying to unifi. I live in a small town in pahang. Went to tmpoint last december. Apply for 300mbps package
I told them that there's no pole to my house and the nearest DP is at the main road.
Later that week contractor and survey team came but they went to the wrong house. They did not contact me, I live in a landed house but my house is hard to find on top of a hill somemore. After that radio silence for a month from TM.

But last week they came to my house to survey the area. After a few days TM contact me and said the nearest DP to my house is 420m, above the 350m maximum threshold. So they need to tarik 1 DP to my house and tanam 6 pole. TM will provide 4 pole for free and all the fibre cable and contractor fee is covered by them. I just need to bear the cost for just 2 pole.
I said yes and they start working within 2 days.

Yes the price for unifi package is expensive compare to others but unifi is the only internet provider wiling to bear the cost to put DP at my house just for me only.

Yes I'm aware of that. But the cost is still very expensive. And the DP is just for me only.

They just can ignore me and give reasons like to far from nearest DP or my house is on top of the hill, difficult to tarik cable or something like that.

Im not unifi shill. Just sharing my experience here. Maybe some people find it useful.

My contract ended last year. Was thinking changing to Time but unifi just offer me free 6 month for 100mbps package. after that rm119. shoud i take it?

Are you sure? I saw Digi put their infrastructure, Time and Maxis have already done so too. TNB too.

Hi, i need some advise. In 2020, i signed for home unifi 800mbps with unifi Tv for RM2XX per month.( i believe it was a 24 month contract)

lately in the past several months the internet speed is very slow. Testing using TM speed test or Ookla (LAN cable test not wifi) show that my down is about 100mbps n up is less than 50.
i would call to customer service to complain then the speed is restored to the package i signed for (800 down, >200 up)

but after say 24+ hours, the speed goes bad again, back to the shitty 100mbps.

i have complained several times, and this cycle has continued for over 3 months now.

the internet is mostly being used by my parents (streaming Netflix/youtube) n me (WFH during day, streaming at night). i wouldn't think this is too heavy especially with the package i signed for (800mbps)

can anyone advise what i need to do? is there a better ISP provider that i can switch to?
I am living in Kajang, Selangor.

I just sign up the 300plan that come with 2 mesh WiFi. However the technician told me unifi no more giving the deco mesh WiFi. So they just give me the normal router to replace the deco mesh WiFi.
Do anyone experienced it?

Glad didn't have to endure the "threatening" with Maxis signup or "begging" at TM Point.

Went to menara TM earlier today. The staff even help me to check for DP nearby. There are only 2 DP in my area, PJS 9. and both DP ports are full.

From their map I can see that there are another DP but according to the technical team: "Ada halangan, tak boleh connect ke DP tu". Probably my taman's wall and the trees surrounding blocked it. 

Seriously, what other solutions we have other than keep waiting for TM to add ports. None of the staffs can janji how soon TM will add port which I doubt they'll do it quick because my area is mature and no new developments going on. From the business point of view, no reason for TM to add port just to cater 1 customer? 

Hi I'm planning to switch back to unifi from Maxis due to the price has been the same since I use it back in 2019. Since I don't want to lose my port, should I apply for unifi first or deactivate my maxis fibre first?

FYI, my hometown is 30M max as soft limit, they did this because it is just an extension on other double floor house's UniFi that given 800M UniFi.
I confirmed this when they give 1 month free speed upgrade for experience, and 100M was provided with full speed during night.

This is why B40 with 30M cheaper price is provided, because there are many B40 area being 30M max soft limit.
There is even more new B40 limited by VDSL on apartment as well, and waiting for TIME is their only solution.

So be expect 30M will ghosting us for another 10 years, as TM also just spend money switching Huawei to ZTE, on Melaka already given ZTE as replacement of new modem.
I wonder how long will it keep going on, as I recall ZTE also new on ban list of US now?

Was interesting and checked my record on UniFi, and it is 550G as highest on past 3 months, and it is just 30M FYI.

Anyways, still need to pay for RM 89 another 2 month, then can downgrade to RM 69, unsure TM gonna allow it without resign 2 year contract or not lol.

Hmm, guess something wrong in my memory then, because I got complain in /k and someone told me can do it, then I asked CS can indeed, but only for upgrade not downgrade, as I like to use Incognito so no record on that chatting lol.

Anyways, will see how's it done la, I was moving around these years so not gonna bind to another 2 year contract then moving, if found out someone got unifi already on new location then gg lol.

btw, i relocated 2 times (2020 & latest last Dec 2022).. no recontract.. don't know maybe their t&c changes again and again.. better ask them again to reconfirm for 2023

Which is the question la, did RM 69 a plan change, or just a special discount that you can apply on top of RM 89, it is not like you gonna stay forever on B40 lol.
So like if you salary "upgraded" to M40, then you still gonna paying the plan for RM 69?

ok I have a problem
for a while now occasionally my BTU will have LOS lit up in red. started happening last year. basically putus internet.
the first LOS started when a random unifi technician messed up the tiang unifi back at the narrow alley behind home (basically narrow alleys u find in terrace houses). and disconnected my fibre connection with it, called technician to help connecting it back.
second LOS was again messed up in the said tiang unifi. called technician to help securing it back again.
after a month or two, LOS happened again. called support, they promised to send technician. but before the technician even came the connection will heal itself (no more LOS). so I had to tell technician that the internet connection is working again and case closed.
2 months later same problem occurred, called technician, connection heals itself, case closed. repeats x times.

this happens for at least 5 times already. shall I hold the technician even though the connection heals itself and ask them to check if my connection with the tiang unifi is acting up?

Yes. But if you can go with them even better if they're not knowledgeable about these stuff.
If TM doesn't offer/approve the SWU package, maybe it's time to switch ISP.
To be honest, when i go to TM Point, i didn't put my expectation high even though i've been subscribing with them for a long time.
Anyway i'm grateful that they appreciated their long customer such as me by approving the upgrade.
Maybe after the 2 year contract end, i will ask them if i can upgrade to 500mbps with same/small increment of payment.
