Its one of the most abundant amino acid in the body among the 20 necessary for muscle protein synthesis, at the same time the mostly used amino acid for metabolism... It plays the row of anti-catabolic simply bcos when you supply plenty of them your body does not have to break down your muscle for them. If you have the Benjamins and you really have to buy 1 amino acid besides whey protein, I suggest L-leucine, an anabolic amino acid. Why do you have to prevent catabolism when you can hasten anabolism, a relatively permanent one....

Wow some of you guys really have the cash to splurge on the supplements.

I`am only on ON's Whey Protein,Universal Creatine and Glucose and I`am making great gains

I honestly feel that whole foods are the best form of nutrition that one can get.

how do u define great gains?

of course real food is the main nutrition here. glutamine and stuff are not expensive and they do help a lot. the most expensive supplement by far is whey protein. privided u take 3 servings on workout days and 2 servings on non workout days

EDIT: what i meant was i used to use the once-a-day-multivits-for-joe-couchpotatoe which was actually a waste bcos it had no effects what soever but animal pak is really a wow.
