So I decided to create a UCSI thread (with permission from darkages) where whatever questions from people wanting to study here can come forward and more importantly, for students of UCSI to really discuss about the college.

UCSI's website

overall it is not that bad.. but little do we know about the courses that your are interested in.. quality wise there are diff for all the courses..

UCSI music course is consider as elite quality in our country but that doesnt mean that every courses in UCSI is relatively that good

there are actually quite a number of people had a bad experience here.. 1 of the forumer here took IDP pathway while others just didnt leave much constructive comment such as go to other Uni etc etc.

but i suppose you didnt have much choices since you are looking at fashion designing

Angkasa condo is a stone's throw away from the Giant Store.South wing is actually the main campus itself while north wing is located somewhere opposite of the highway within the residential area.

As for renting,if u can somehow manage to find a vacant room in angkasa all by urself the u dont actually need uni's assistance. If u decide to let the university handle it for u then be sure to expect some xtra $$$ + with all the rules.....meh

Finding a furnished unit or even a room is not that easy let me tell u that....I'm starting to freekin panic myself since i haven't found any yet!!!! The last resort would be to just stay in their hostels...and use the microwave to its limit tongue.gif

I think its more towards availability whereby 1st come 1st serve rule applied. So you gotta make the efforts ya know?

By rental u mean the cost? or the technical side of it?
For cost, i think there is some previous posts mentioning those so ya ought tha check it out.
For the technical side...i'm as clueless as a goat in Sahara desert. Something about checking something on the ground floor of the condo a.k.a the office.

FUture engineering students. Not all engineering courses need to be recognized by BEM.Only a few of the majors really need BEM recognition.

UCSI is a good school for biomed /pharmacy/food science/nursing/music.
Mass comm,i would recommend Taylor's / HELP
Engineering>Taylor's / KBU / Apiit

I'm an education counsellor,if you guys have any doubts or queries regarding anything[on education],please feel free to pm me.I'll be glad to assist you.

expect no more than rm400 for a room in angkasa condo monthly either single or twin share the master room.. rm400 is actually a little high and should include streamyx.

expect 15 minutes walk or at least 10 from angkasa to academic block at UCSI

do find a room by yourself and try not to go through UCSI as you are paying double what others is paying..

UCSI offer edexcel a-level and it seems they gave quite a number of scholarship to A level students.. for the differences between 2 boards just refer to other A level thread.

total cost of biotech cost should be available at the website. quality wise, i dont think i am in position to tell you anything

hey,
it's better if u could pay a visit to ucsi's neighborhood.
Besides from Angkasa (which it's more expensive and dangerous), you could also try searching for rooms in one of those double storey houses behind Aliance bank.

At this time of the year, many seniors who have completed their thesis are moving out. There's a lot of vacant room in fact. Very easy to find, just drive around there and u'll see many signs put up "room for rent".

So, it's not advisable to ask ucsi to find for u unless u're willing to pay more and is desperate...

IMO, Angkasa condo is further, less convenient, the lifts always spoils, dangerous ( there's tons of robberies there), and sometimes more expensive.

IF you search hard enough, you could get a room for RM250 incl electricity and everything in the 2-storey houses. smile.gif

Good luck!

biotech in ucsi is better than UTAR, IMO. Better lab facilities...
Should cost around 70k-80k (now that the fees increased already)

of course UTAR is wayyyy cheaper lar... UTAR biotech cost only around RM30-40K, if i'm not mistaken.

erm.. the cost to complete pharmacy course in both AIMST and UCSI is almost the same. mb now with the increase of fees, UCSI is a little higher though.expect no less than rm100k for the fees and lab and so on for both institute.

cost of living wise, sungai petani of course is much cheaper compare to cheras.

both of the pharmacy course at UCSI and AIMST is APPROVED by LAN but it is not accredited yet.hence, they are not of a recognised by government degree if this is what you are asking. so they are both equal.

sorry to disappoint you but only USM ,UM , UKM, IMU twinning , SIT twinning and USM external degree at UCSI is recognised by the government currently

Sorry for the stupid question.
So, that's mean, only pharmacy grad from USM, UM, UKM, IMU twinning, SIT twinning can work in government hospital? the others cannot?
thanks for answering my question.

no no no. you still can and must work for the government for at least 4 years after you graduated.

but i think you cant register with the pharmacy board to be a registered pharmacist and you cant set up own community pharmacy.

Added on December 16, 2008, 11:33 pmCan anyone from unrecognized university get register with the Board?

No. The recognition of a qualification is by a process where the university concerned request for recognition and through a process of documentation, evaluation and visit to the university by a team made up of representatives of a few government agencies, the qualification can be recognized.

Hello. I'm just wondering whether should I study biomedical science in UTAR or food science and nutrition in UCSI University.
Well, what concerns me is the career prospect in these 2 courses, can anyone plz tell me which 1 is better?
cry.gif
Is English standard in UCSI quite bad?
Is the lecturers for the food science course good?
If I study biomedical science, do I really have the chance to do research in future? Very confused. rclxub.gif
I don't know the ways lecturers in UCSI teach the students good?
Anyone Plz Help Me
