You port in to maxis or existing customer?

If you’re existing customer I suggest wait for 1-2 minutes after login into your maxis account and do the purchase.

I’ve encountered the advance payment page. So what i did was relogin waited 1-2 mins , delete item in cart and add it back and proceed to checkout and no more advance payment needed.

What plan are you on? The highest? If not mistaken you’ve been a customer with them for quite some time right? It’s strange that they require you to pay upfront

Yes existing customer. I didn't/wouldn't do that on a pre-order page, i might lose my queue! I was already at 300+ in line. If i do that i would probably drop back to 1000-2000!

Nope, 139 plan. I've been their customer for 10+ years with this number. Not including my earlier years with other numbers.
And all my payment is done auto billing as well, so no late payment...

I suggest you call them or visit maxis centre and complain about the advance payment. Ask them to revert it back.

i believe normal contract is you pay (discounted?) device in full upfront.

Maxis has this privy only to them method of deciding which customers pay upfront for devices. The criteria for waiver is not just tenure of your business with them.

Not quite right. If one pays using selected credit cards Maxis like other merchants such as Harvey Norman has instalment plans but IINM, it’s up to 12 months only.

That is installment by credit card provider, not by Maxis or merchants themselves.
Maxis and merchants still get full payment on "day1".

Yes, I am customer of less than a week, but they didn’t charge upfront also

as mentioned, if you hammer different channels and outlets in short space of time, will get different determination as well, in no particular order.
• not qualifed altogether, need to full upfront
• partial upfront (zerolution)
• no upfront (zerolution)
