I wonder if Apple is going to stick out the 13” to be a base model like in the past where they will never upgrade.

think 13" will stick around for a while before discontinuing, dont think they will make it base model though... maybe in 1-2 years they will be removed from the store entirely

Seems like last minute rumors about the notch came out and it was true. Maybe the notch was acceptable on the iPhone and on the MacBook?

So are you guys pre-ordering it?

I presume that the Touch Bar was supposed to be a stepping stone towards implementing a full LCD display in place of the keyboard, so the MacBook Pro was supposed to have two displays one on top for the screen and the bottom one is the keyboard.

Looks like that didn't work out, so we got the physical Fn keys back. But as for the Touch Bar, the Asus Zenbook Pro Duo may have a better implementation for the secondary display.

Just came from MKBHD video where even he says the macbook pro is a expensive device and he is staying in a country where he can gets it from starting price 2k. But reading this thread many of the comments says it's priced at a decent price for the specs. This make me really question my current career and financial situation.

There is a big price hike in electronics in the past year. Rtx3080 laptops costs at least rm10-17k+ while Apple’s claim on their M1 processors which outperform them while having similar ram/ssd, much better screen and build quality costs cheaper/same. No one can make the same argument that Apple laptops are overpriced now since their hardware performance is well ahead now.

Tbh I have no idea what’s the hate about Touch Bar, I personally quite like it…now they replace the F keys feels like we are 5-10 years backwards…plus the design feels like pre 2016 mbp
