Sounds like it will be a while before the new MacBook Pro machines are available here. Not only Apple products, but other products as well due to the global chip shortage. Looks like TSMC is really that important to the world economy.

Just test drive both 14 & 16, damn. just the apps opening alone for FCP and Affinity photo is 10x faster than my 16" 2019 i9

the 14" unit looks so attractive comparing not much different for my workload vs MAX chip.

The stores have ready stock now? Or need to pre-order and wait for stock to arrive?

Week 4 after the announcement is coming to an end now, what are the odds it hits MY before Christmas?

Unfortunately that's the basic spec being sold by all if not most retailers in Malaysia as well.
Machines and Switch already have pre-order available for those same specs. Looks like I might have to get from official Apple online for the specs I want, which is sad since Machines trade in for 16" 2019 is quite decent. Much better than Apple SG ridiculous trade in value.

Hope it will come before Christmas…I’m falling asleep waiting a lot has been running in my head lately, all the dilemma from 14” pro to max to 16”, if they don’t come earlier I’ll be cracking my head with all these dilemmas

how much Machines offer the trade in? the 2nd hand market here is shite as well. 2k......for a spec bought for 4.5k sgd

Oops, I mean Switch trade in is slightly higher than Machines. But their trade in for the 16" 2019 spec wise is very basic. Divided btw 512gb and 1tb version, doesn't matter what other upgrades you do which is the big downside. 16" 2019 1tb trade in is RM5,115. Selling 2nd hand would probably get you more although quite troublesome to find buyer.

Apple SG trade in is a huge con job. My 16" 2019 trade in value they offer S$790
Apple US offered nearly RM6k trade in value in comparison.

Wow 790sgd and 6k is almost x3 the value difference

There's no mentioned of other spec (e.g. cpu speed, is that i7 or i9; 16GB RAM or 32GB RAM) on both website. I presume that's the base model of i7?)

I think it doesn't matter if your unit has the 5600M or even i9 or 32gb ram, they are only offering that amount for trade in based on that 2 storage difference whether you like it or not
